“Great Spot-Charming grounds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2010

We came into the Cape for a family reunion over the 4th of July holiday weekend. WOW! We were lucky to snag the last room at this charming family operated motel. Located on Route 6A, we had a sparkling clean double bedded room with hardwood floors that gleamed.
The grounds have a large lawn with ducks and chickens wandering around a duck pond. Big trees and chairs to lounge in, so good to stay in a locally owned motel. When we called for reservations they even told us the exact directions as Google maps has them listed wrong. Very helpful in finding them.

Cute motel-more like B&B. Cont. Breakfast is great-eggs fresh from their own chickens, muffins made by the owner-fresh and yummy. Owners treat you like family and are so pleasant to talk to! Outdoor pool, refreshing on the hot days we were there! The furniture is not your normal motel furnishings-more like home, we had two double canopy beds! The only negative is the beds were a little on the firm side-I like pillow tops! I will definately stay when in the area! Enjoy!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Earl of Sandwich.
**Nice room
**BEAUTIFUL surroundings -- duck pond, garden setting, nice to sit out and read a book in front of the duck pond.
**Friendly staff
**Very, very clean
**muffins and fruit each morning for breakfast
**Quiet
We will stay there again when we visit Cape Cod.

Family run motel, biggest plus is that it was super clean. I also had some dietary issues and needed a microwave, the owner let me us the one in a little breakfast area after hours. I really appreciated the great service. We stayed in one of the pet rooms. It was very sparse and had a very noisy fridge. Wifi was spotty as it was a bit far from the office. I think the other no pets rooms are probably better. My suggestion would be to upgrade the chairs. They were uncomfortable and bottom cushion kept sliding out from under me. A recliner made of pet friendly material would work. Breakfast was muffins and hard boiled eggs. I appreciated the eggs.

The last time I was on the Cape, I drove by here & thought "What a cute place, I should have stayed here". When I finally made it back, 16 years later, I sought out The Earl of Sandwich motel & I'm so glad we stayed here. It's charming, cozy & relaxing, has easy access to all areas of the Cape, via R6A, the grounds are lush and well maintained, the area surrounding the hotel is beautiful, and the motel hosts, who have been here for 18 years, are friendly and helpful. Like another reviewer said, if you are looking for bells & whistles, mints on your pillow or a 24 hour concierge, skip this place. But if you want a fabulous value, peaceful setting & a very clean and comfortable place to stay on the Cape don't miss The Earl of Sandwich (and don't wait sixteen years to try it out!)

My two sisters and I stayed here for 3 nights in May (we had 2 rooms). The owners are very friendly, the rooms are clean with four poster beds, and the grounds are well-kept. If you want lots of bells and whistles, this is not the place for you; but if you want clean, comfortable, affordable accommodation in a pretty surrounding, stay here. Loved the ducks and geese!

We stayed three nights from May 12th to the 14th. Our room was very comfortable, nicely furnished - as you see from the photos on their website, the furniture is not standard issue hotel furniture. The room was very, very clean. There is a small fridge, so chilling wine is not a problem. The continental breakfast included hard boiled eggs from their own chickens, and, there were glass mugs (as opposed to only styrofoam cups, which were also available) for coffee and tea, and trays so you could take your breakfast back to your room. The owners are very hospitable and generous with their time and information. It was very easy to find during spring, since the 'hedges' are azaleas in blinding colours. Parking couldn't be more convenient - literally right outside your door. It was very quiet and restful. We were charmed.
