Always a great experience with changing menu. Great personable owner & staff. It is only a short walk from the "Parsonage Inn".

We stopped in for an early evening dinner in the middle of the week and didn't have reservations, but we were graciously seated near a window overlooking the garden out back where the herb beds were planted. It was easy to imagine the chef stepping out there to pick the herbs that seasoned our dinner.
The restaurant has a small bar and two rooms for seating, one of which is up three steps and probably looks out to the front. There is an outdoor seating area which we assumed was for waiting or overflow, but it was unused the night we were there since it was spritzing.
Drinks were large and delicious. Good wine list. Great northern Italian dishes with several seafood options. My husband had the striped bass special, and it was a thick piece that he devoured. I ordered the bistecca medium rare and had a tender, dark pink piece of beef to boost my red blood cells! We both enjoyed the zuppa del giorno - a puree of cauliflower with wonderful flavor. While we didn't really need a dessert, we found it necessary to share a smooth, delicious panna cotta.

We have been to this restaurant many, many times - it was a long-time family favorite for a special night out - although the last time we dined there was about 4 years ago. We went tonight with my extended family (and kids age 9 and 6) to celebrate their grandparents wedding anniversary. In summary, it was a very disappointing, terrible experience, for a restaurant that is supposed to be very high end for Cape Cod (entree prices are $25-30). While the food was mostly good, the service was extremely slow and generally inattentive. The total dining time was 2.5 hours when it should have taken about 2 hours max. The portions were also very small. We ordered "fettuccine with butter" for the kids and we were charged $23 EACH (the full price of the main entree with many other ingredients, including wild boar). Our desserts/coffee arrived over 30 minutes after we ordered them, and the coffees were cold. Unfortunately we will never go back there, which is a big disappointment to my family, as it was one of the few restaurants on Cape Cod we could count on for a delicious, well-prepared meal, in a very pleasant and attentive, friendly environment, even if it was expensive.

We visit this restaurant several times during the summer and find the quality of food and the attractiveness of its presentation tops in Orleans. Favorites from our last meal were the scallops and a delicious chicken breast. (I do miss the Filleta de Rombo, which has disappeared from the menu, but there several other fish dishes.) The staff is efficient and attentive. The atmosphere is more intimate than most restaurants in the neighborhood, but like most successful restaurants, it can get pretty noisy on a busy Saturday.

We have been faithful patrons of NBC since it opened. Unfortunately we have also seen its demise. At one time it was a friendly establishment, with the owner helping to make you feel comfortable in his restaurant. The last few times we have been treated like second class citizens. One of our watresses was so rude I actually told her to get over herself. You should not have to do this in a restaurant that charges the prices that they do or anywhere else for that matter, if you choose to be a server then be nice about it.. Your server should be friendly and introduce themselves, that did not happen on our last visit which will be our last visit. We ordered off the Prix Fixe menu. The eggplant appetizer was just plain strange with the fish being too overwhelming. The rabe were tasty but the fact that there were only three forkfulls was dissappointing. The real problem is when our main entrees came. First know that the menu is $27.00 a person without tax or gratuity. There were four of us two of which ordered the Linguine and Clams. Without exaggeration there were twelve noodles. Now think about this, if you cook at home we all know how much that is it fits on a fork. We could not believe our eyes. I mentioned it to our waiter and he relayed the message to the chef. When asked what did the chef say out answer was nothing. Nothing at all not even from the waiter. I will say the food was good but the amounts are extremely too small. It borders on prententious. So all that said we are dissappointed that a favorite of ours is no longer on our list of places to eat when on the Cape.
