My husband and I recently stayed here for our two year wedding anniversary. We were delighted to realize it's so close to the beach, truly within walking distance. We didn't have to pay for parking down the street, etc. We walked our beach chairs and belongings down the hill onto Nauset Beach, one of the prettiest on the Cape. It's also very close to the Cap Cod Rail Trail (bike trail) and you can go over to the bay side of the Cape, only four miles away. There were nice restaurants in the area. We will definitely return. The owners were pleasant and thought of all the *little details*. It's a lovely preserved old home. There is no reason to go anywhere else in the future... I couldn't give up the perfect proximity to the beach and the beautiful gardens on this property! Highly recommend.

I don't know what they could possibly do to improve. My girlfriend and I only stayed for 1 night (they only allow this if there is a room open for 1 night in between two other stays) and we wish we could have stayed all summer! The decor throughout the inn was incredibly relaxing and consistent, the breakfast was delicious and clearly handmade, and the bedroom was extremely clean and comfortable. The beach was a quick walk and was perfect. I'm a beach snob, but this beach with it's soft sand exceeded my expectations.

It is definitely pricey, but if you can afford it, this is THE place to stay in Orleans!!

Room Tip: If you think you'll want your own bathroom, the extra $40 or so dollars is probably worth it. S...

This is a lovely, cozy inn with beautiful landscaping, homey, attractive rooms and wonderful hosts. Ship's Knees is a short walk to gorgeous Nauset Beach. Towels and beach chairs are provided and there's a pool if you aren't a beach person. Daily breakfasts are imaginative and beautifully presented. Some rooms are quite small, but the Nauset Suite where we stayed was well worth the extra money. Orleans is in a great location to visit charming surrounding towns and the close by Cape Cod National Seashore. This is a wonderful destination if you like to relax and be close to the ocean. We spent five lovely days here--our second visit-- and we hope to return again.

Room Tip: Most rooms are fairly small. The suite and the apartment cost more but give more space to spread out...

My husband and I just got back from spending 4 nights at the Ship's Knees Inn. This place is absolutely amazing and just the kind of getaway we were looking for! This was the perfect quaint, cozy and beyond charming B&B. The grounds are beautiful, having the luxury of sitting around the firepit at night is wonderful, and the owners Peter and Denise are fantastic! Every day Peter gave us suggestions about his favorite places to eat and spots to go. He was right on point with everything, and Denise prepares the perfect most delicious scones and muffins for breakfast! We also were able to walk their dog, Marley, and explore some of the surrounding houses! This place was a little bit of heaven tucked away from the chaos of life, and was just a short walk down to Nauset beach and a short drive into town. The best part is that not many B&B's have pools, but that was just another added bonus of this place! After a nice day at the beach, you can come back and relax by the pool with really no one around to disturb you. Orleans is located right in the middle of the Cape, so it's just a short ride to Chatham and about a half hour up to Provincetown. I would 100% go back to the Ship's Knees Inn in a heartbeat and recommend this place to anyway looking for the most relaxing getaway on Cape Cod! Thanks again Peter and Denise. Already looking forward to our next escape to the Cape.

We just spent the past 3 days at the Ship's Knees Inn in East Orleans, MA (cape Cod). It was a great experience. I had a hard time finding a place near a beach in Cape Cod. The only places available were very expensive and not very interesting. This one is not on the beach but it is within 500 meters (550 yrs) of one of the most beautiful and not so popular beaches in Cape Cod, Nauset Beach. The Inn is made of an old captain's house and it is located in a quiet residential area. It is set on a beautiful property which has been groomed like a PGA golf course. It has a swimming pool, which is nice considering that the ocean water temperature at this time of the year is so low that only the Polar Bear club members can swim in it. It also has a very nice patio with a gas fire pit and enough tables for all the guests to sit down apart from each others. They serve an exquisite continental breakfast that goes beyond my understanding of what a continental breakfast is. For example, they had some omelette in a tortilla shell. When we were there this past week, the inn was full and the place was yet very quiet. The guests, mostly couples, were friendly and greeted each other politely but were respectful of each other's privacy. Our room was a deluxe queen, it was in the old mansion, it had low ceilings but it was spacious, it had a large fireplace and a lot of charm. The bed was very comfortable and the place was quiet, except for the air conditioning unit that we didn't need at night anyway. It was an excellent experience.

A very good chose in the last moment.
The Inn is better that photos on Booking.
Very nice house, clean, and gentle owners trying to help.
A very good berach at a very short distance.
Breakfast is good but in could be improved with more options.
Our room (twin beds) were maybe not as spacious as others but very nice, we like it a lot. Bed very comfortable.
A needed livingroom for cold days or rainy days, or to rest after a long day would be very appreciated. I know they are already thinking on it.

Stayed here for the weekend. What a beautiful Inn. The Inn Keepers were around every day making sure everything was perfect. From the clean and comfortable rooms, to the outdoor lounging spaces, it was impeccable! The breakfast every morning was spectacular! Homemade scones and granola bars - delicious fruit - creative egg dish YUM! A short walk down to Nauset beach - even after I checked out, the owners allowed me to leave my car parked in their lot so I could go down to the beach once again. I have been coming to East Orleans for over 40 yrs and it just keeps getting better and better!!
