Had a great hamburger on a pretzel roll.
Service was excellent
It was a dreary winter day but sat by the window and watched a fox looking for food & also saw a blue heron in the marsh.

Whenever we are on the Cape (like we were yesterday to look for the Snowy Owls), I try to get to the Marshside. The atmosphere is fantastic overlooking the marsh. Yesterday we saw a blue heron. The food and service are excellent here. My favorite is Paris Dip (roast beef on a roll and a special liquid for dipping). And I always finish with the mocha mousse. Family had a fish sandwich and a large salad as well as "the best" clam chowder. The staff was very friendly. We arrived at about 11:30 AM so we had no trouble parking. I'm ready to go back again. Eating here is a real treat.

We were fans of the Marshside Restaurant back when it was a little house with oil cloth tablecloths, Trivial Pursuit Cards and crayons on the tables and parking for about 4 cars. The food was great, fairly priced and the service friendly all year-round. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, you couldn't beat it. You watched the bird feeders outside the ancient windows and enjoyed the view across the marsh. Then they closed the bridge for repairs and the restaurant shut down. Every visit to the Cape meant checking to see if they were open yet. Finally they were and what a surprise! Valet parking at Marshside? The new building should have won architectural awards - high ceilings, huge walls of windows and fabulous woodwork everywhere. There is a view from every table. The gardens are magnificent - the site of at least one of our family pictures each year. But, most importantly, the food has maintained and even surpassed its former quality. The service is just as friendly, but some of us miss the Trivial Pursuit. However, as my grandchildren will attest, the selection of toys available for younger customers in unequaled (hidden in drawers under the bench in the waiting room) and they even have American Girl dolls that can join your family for your meal. This is a place for a bowl of great soup or a burger, but also up to the challenge for your anniversary dinner or family reunion. The seafood is without equal and prepared perfectly. If someone asks me "Where do you want to eat?" they know Marshside will be my first choice. By the way, I have been coming to the Cape for more than 60 years, so my experience is wider than most tourists or even some residents.
If you are on the Cape, don't miss this place - but be warned, they do not take reservations, so if you prefer not to wait, go early.

We have been here now 3 times and liked it very much. it is not the quintisential dining experience, but the food is very good. A wide assortment on the menu, accomodating staff, (usually)!
Prices are reasonable, and the seating is great, not in the next tables face!
The setting on the marsh is very nice, and easy to get to location. Of course, in season, like most decent restaurants on the Cape, patience is a virtue!

Our waiter last weekend seemed pre occupied with other tables and was quite inattentive, but, we got past it. Rarely came by and we had to throw up a flare to get his attention.
Overall, we enjoy the Marshside, and I think it is worth the trip, but, be realistic, and expect a good solid meal, not one you'll be calling your friends in Nebraska or elsewhere to tell them about.

Dined with friends here recently. The food was both good and mediocre. I enjoyed the crab cake appetizer but not the calamari which was tough and minimally sized.
Could not enjoy the view due to the hour. The staff was was friendly and attentive. No valet parking. In summary for the somewhat pricey cost of our meals, we received little value. Better values are easily found
