The Windsor House has recently changed ownership and, wow, what a difference! Being one of just a few restaurants/bars in Duxbury, the old owners clearly took for granted the captive audience. This was apparent in both the mediocre food and hit or miss service. The new owners have raised the bar significantly, renovating the building and the grounds while maintaining the quaintness and charm of the property.
The food is great. I have tried the fish & chips, the chowder, the chicken wings, and the mussels. All top notch. The service is friendly and present without being too overbearing and the atmosphere is both relaxing and inviting. I have dined in the tavern and on the new patio. I look forward to classing it up in the gorgeous main dining room soon.
If you haven't been in a while, definitely go check it out. A Duxbury landmark has finally been given the care and attention it deserves!
