My only complaint with this hotel is it was booked six weeks out and I couldn't stay as long as I would have liked. Room is good size, breakfast was great. Here is what really pushed me to give the 5-star review, the Cable!!
The room had an actual, xfinity HD cable box with Showtime and HBO with an HDMI connection to a flat screen TV. I could use the On-Demand absolutely free! Beats the heck out of lodge-net. As another reviewer mentioned though, the internet is slow! I used my tethering during peak times. The staff was amazing and incredibly helpful and took steps to greet me by name, an awesome touch of personalized service!
A couple of downs though, the maids didn't always re-stock amenities. one time they actually put the empty shampoo back? My AC broke, but it was fixed within an hour (went to dinner and back and it was good to go). Again, I can overlook these because of the Cable Box though! I've never seen that in a hotel room before!

I've stayed in many Springhill Suites across America and this one has to be the most mediocre. While the rooms are clean and staff are very friendly and helpful, the place seems a bit run down.

Pros: Clean, Good Elevators, Good hot breakfast
Cons: Small rooms, Maintenance needs work, and High Speed Internet is so SLOOOOOOOW. See Speed Test Below.

The rooms are very small compared to other Springhill suites. My room's AC was extremely loud (something loose inside was vibrating) and the thermostat on the wall did not work. The closet door had splashes of paint on the the bottom. After a second phone call to the front desk about the AC, they sent someone up with key to a new room at the other end of the building. The AC unit there worked properly and sounded normal.

The new room however, had a loose toilet seat and I had to make up my own "Do Not Disturb" sign (which housekeeping replaced when they came by in the morning and saw my piece of paper sticking out of the key slot).

Marriott Properties have switched to a new shampoo, and conditioner in small white tubular plastic bottles. They look exactly the same except for the word SHAMPOO and CONDITIONER running down the side of the little bottle. My two bottles were at the sink with the bars of soap and I could see the Conditioner one as the word was facing me, so I grabbed the other one to wash my hair in the morning. It turned out to be a Conditioner too. Oh well, it was a learning experience.

Most hotels these day will advertise and offer High Speed Internet. The Internet at this hotel was so slow, it would have been faster to dial up over a phone line. My cell phone would provide service 10 times faster. I had a late appointment, so I was working in my room at a time when most guests were checked out or out working so it could not have been the normal issue of the Internet crawling to its knees when everyone in the hotel is on it. Bottom line, the internet access at this hotel is NOT high speed in any sense of the word.

Would I stay there again? Probably. The $50 more per night rate at the Hilton Garden Inn next door (without a free hot breakfast) makes the difference.

As hotels go, Springhill Suites is dead center on the mundane bell curve. Without any ambitions of grandeur, the hotel is perfectly content at being average. This is a property where the loudest thing in the place is the carpeting. I am only guessing here, but the design on the hallway carpeting was probably the illegitimate love child of a bottle of vodka and a colorblind raccoon.

Springhill Suites is a place where weary, cost conscious travelers can lay their tired heads. They provide the usual standard amenities including free coffee and breakfast, clean sheets, and free Wi-Fi. Furthermore, I can say (with almost a tear in my eye), they also provide clean bathrooms. Oh, happy day. I sang hosannas upon this revelation until most of the floor begged me to stop.

They also offer, absolutely free of charge two (count them, 2) fire alarm drills at the most inconvenient times. Certain is the knowledge that at the precise moment when you have placed your fatigued body into the shower, the alarm will sound. However, all is not lost. In the “Doing Customer Service Right” column, they compensated everyone a night, gratis. I believe they even threw in a “Get out of Fire Alarm” card as well.

The employees were polite and very accommodating. The front desk was always staffed and every employee had smiles for the guests. I would say they had a certain joie de vivre, but let’s agree they simply enjoyed their jobs. I liked that. They were unobtrusive but eminently accessible.

I would recommend this place for the road weary traveler; the tired businessperson; the exhausted goers of bachelor(ette) parties. It is, undeniably, adequate in satisfying the need to lay your tired head. Now, should the traveler be searching for an experience akin to The Four Seasons or The Ritz-Carlton, you, Sir/Madam, are out of luck. No such luxuries here. But, then, they do not shoot for the stars, only for the top of the highest nearby hill.

Room Tip: All rooms are nearly identical; as such, no location is better than any other. Walls are a bit thin...

Great friendly and super helpful staff begining with the Manager, and then traveling all of the way down the staff line. Very nice breakfast every morning and a Wall Street Journal and USA Today to start the day off right.
If you happen to be an old ASA Fort Devens alumni (as I am) take the time to visit the Devens Museum which is actually outside of the part of the fort that they fenced off and now call Fort Devens. It is located on the 3rd floor of Bldg 94 in the old Training Battalion Quad.

No complaints....nice new hotel, pristine lobby...nice personnel.
Great price! The workmanship quality of our room was a a bit shoddy...Not sure
how it will hold up after time. A lot of popcorn coating's on the wall. A few of the sprinkler
heads in our room were missing some finish molding (picky I know!)
Would not hesitate to stay there again.

This hotel is on the site of a former army base...to get to it you drive through the old gates of the army base and drive past wide open fields, a few hotels, some office buildings, etc. and see very few people. It feels slightly weird because all the buildings are of the same vintage and it looks a little like the setting for a TV sci-fi movie! Plus there are plenty of army people still around. But the rooms were perfectly nice, the staff was very friendly, and the price was right! If you need to stay in the neighborhood, this is a good place to try.

Very nice property and like most Marriott locations the staff was very accommodating. Enjoyed the location on the old Army base and there were enough options for food and activities nearby. Lots of families and kids on the weekend but didn't seem too noisy with all the activity.
