A waitress at another restaurant (unaffiliated with Grumpy's) recommended that we visit Grumpy's. We're glad we took her advice. The restaurant is unpretentious and, if you were just driving by on Rte. 6A you might not think about stopping. That would be a mistake. The food is excellent. While you can find an unimpressive menu on-line, inside the restaurant you will find chalk-boards listing omlets and other wonderful dishes. Being Cape Cod, this included a lobster omlet and lobster benedict. The meal was so good, we visited the restaurant a second time before leaving the cape. Unlike bad service, it is easy to overlook good service. The staff at Grumpy's was great (and not Grumpy at all).
We almost did not stop during our second visit because we saw a line of people waiting to get inside. This would have been a mistake. The line moved fast and people were seated quickly. More importantly, once we were at our table, we weren't rushed even though others were now waiting to be seated. The pace of the restaurant allowed its customers to enjoy their meal, while getting later arrivals seated.
If you're looking for a place for breakfast or lunch, I would highly recommend Grumpy's.
