The road to the tower was closed with a locked chain across. We parked on the side of the road and walked up a small hill. Easy walk up the stairs to the top of the lighthouse. Great views of Scargo Lake and beyond. Beautiful woods surround the lighthouse.

Every time I am on the Cape, I always make a visit to the tower. Excellent views of the bay from this site. I always get some great shots from the tower.

Just a quick attraction that is a must see if you're in Dennis, MA on 6A.

The tower itself is about 30 feet tall, a quick jaunt up some wooden steps inside, that are just recently rebuilt, takes you to the top. The view is breathtaking. The tower sits ontop of a bluff that is 150 feet or so over Scargo pond. Scargo pond is a decent sized little lake, I would put it at 50-60 acres, that is the closest freshwater on Cape Cod to the ocean. Cape Cod bay, from the tower, looks like its just a few feet from the pond. In reality, it's probably a few hundred feet, but it's still pretty close.

On a clear day you can see the tip of cape cod, and with good eyes (or my binoculars) make out the Pilgrim Monument over in P-town.

If you've got some more time, go back down Scargo Hill Road to 6A, and make a right. Then go a short bit to Doctors something road and hang a right right down to the pond itself. There are a few small beach areas there and a parking lot. The real gem is in the woods just to the left of the pond, where you will find the Scargo pottery studios. It is a beautiful art/pottery studio nestled among the trees. It's an amazing art campus area that you should at least browse, if not buy a locally made beautiful keepsake to take home with you.

I will try to add a few more photos once I find them...
