The only reason I feel compelled to review this hotel is because I must implore them to do something about the lighting in their guest rooms. Yuk. I have never seen a room with so many lamps that provided so little light. And the light that they did give off was institutional at best. I'm all for energy efficient bulbs, but they make them in a "soft glow" format. I know because I use them at home. When I stay at a hotel I don't want to read by the light of my interrogation lamp, which only happens to illuminate 0.01 sq ft of the room. I think I would have been better off using a flashlight. At least I would have been able to see and the light from that would have been more inviting.
Also, they heat the hallways to something between equator and interior of Mt Vesuvius which seemed a bit excessive. Admittedly, January in Boston is cold so ... I guess I shouldn't complain about that too much. I didn't spend my time in the hallway anyway.
The rest of the hotel was what you would expect. The staff were very friendly, the rate was cheap, and the bed was comfortable.
