We had made reservations well in advance for a large party in a certain dining room and when we got there they tried to move us,but we wanted to all sit there so we told them no and we had to wait about 15 minutes. When they brought us to our table it was a table for 6 that they had added 4 more chairs. We asked to sit at another table but one of the waiters was very rude and said you wanted to sit here. Someone from our party had gone to get the manager and he told the waiters to set up another table then just walked away. We have been going here for many years but i think this will be our last. The atmosphere and menu is very outdated and the quality of the food isn't what it once was.

At one time or another, everyone on the north shore has gone to the Hardcover to celebrate a special occasion. Its a solid restaurant, not spectacular but solid. Sald bar is excellent, steaks and seafood good. Could use an updating but still one of the best spots to eat on the north shore.

The Hardcover has always been one of my favorite places for dinner. We like the atmosphere, the great salad bar and the steaks are always great.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. The wait wasn't bad - 1/2 hour. Very disappointing meal and our waitress was terrible. She came back when we were halfway through with dinner to see how it was. Seemed like she did not have much interest in being there at all. The steak was overcooked as were the scallops (they were like rubber and tasted terrible). Cocktails were a little steep at $10.00 each. On the good side - swordfish was delicious, though too high ($30.00.) Great salad bar.

We recently had the need to set up a bereavement luncheon and wanted to have it at the Hardcover for sentimental reasons. From my first phone call I was treated with amazing compassion. I do not remember the name of the first gentleman I spoke with but he referred me to Teddy Pappalardo, the banquet manager , who put together a wonderful luncheon for 65 people in a very, very short notice. Everything was perfect, the room was warm and beautiful and the food was superb. The service, respect and compassion, flexibility that every person showed us and our guests was second to none. Fine people, running a fine restaurant!
