I am awarding this hotel with four stars, but the rating really should be about 3.5 stars.

Room was clean and odor free. Our room was large. We did not use the pool, but it looked clean and well maintained. Grounds were well maintained and attractive.

Breakfast was good, included were different types of bagels, toast, oatmeal and cereal. Breakfast area was small, and crowded on most mornings.

Since I am an early bird, I appreciated the 24 hour coffee, tea, hot chocolate availability.

Be careful of the first step (door threshold) into the room, the step is higher then most hotel rooms.

Our room even had a loveseat sofa that was comfortable.

Staff was helpful.

I checked reviews before booking this motel. I normally don't book motels but this was a last minute motel after an open bar wedding so we didn't want to drive home. At first glance, thought it appeared clean (like reviews i had read prior). Bed was hard and very uncomfortable, A/C was extremely loud, woke up in am to wash my face and brush teeth. Picked up face cloth and a huge bug dropped out of it. Then, turned on faucet, two bugs came out of faucet and dirty water. I took pictures and showed front desk and she said, must be a town water problem and that was it. My bros. had room beside mine and his water was fine! Ended up using bottle water to brush my teeth (luckily had some in the car). Would never have been able to use shower. The toilet was also yellow and stained. Front desk said that theirs was too! and again, must be town problem. I checked my brothers bathroom and it looked better then ours. Will be awhile before i stay at a motel again!

Hello Rocco,

We are very sorry your room was not up to our high standards.
The Town of Danvers for the Month of July are flushing all the water pipes and this is out of our control. Some rooms did have a tinge to the water but the Town of Danvers assures everyone that the water is fine. I do understand that it does not look fine.
This is the timeof the year with us being an outdoor property that flies/japanese beetles, earwigs etc... do get into the room and our Housekeeping department does work very hard to make sure they have removed them. It is sometimes impossible to be rid of them all as wetrack them in on our shoes, when entering the room.
I do not know how they came outof the faucet but maintenance did go in after your stay and remove all the plumbing in the sink and cleaned the drains so this will not happen again.
We did give you a full refund and we apologize as this is not how our rooms are as the reviews state.
We hope you will give us another try and I would appreciate you calling me or Lisa my Sales Manager so we can speakwith you directly.
Thank You,
Cynthia and Staff of Knights Inn Boson/Danver, Ma.

Very nice motel, great rooms, very clean, beds we're comfortable. The pool was very clean.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. We did find the location to be awkward, hard to get to. Overall a very nice place to stay.

We found the location and rooms of knights inn to be below par. Its awkward to access by car involving getting on and off various freeway exits to head south. Salem is 20 minutes drive away. The rooms don't have a hairdryer or coffee maker and you get the bare minimum number of towels and soap.
NO early check in. Ever. We had several other examples from staff where the rules are the rules and they won't budge a bit.

Room Tip: Note about 16 of 76 rooms are upstairs so if you don't want to cart luggage make sure you add do...

Hello Dianna,

Thank you for taking your time to write a review. We do appreciate it!

I have no control over our road system and for this I apologize.
We are a limited/budget Inn that has all the amenities such as hairdryers/Irons/Boards etc...a guest needs available 24 hours st the Front Desk. To keep are prices affordable we offer a Complimentary 24 Coffee Staton with New England Coffee to all our guests. Extra towels are always avalable a the Front Desk.

When we can we check in our guests early but check out is 11AM and since we are booked each night we are unable to accomodate our guests at times. We certainly do not like to tell a guest no for anything. Guests start trying to check in way before guests are even checked out. This makes it hard for the staff because we wantto please everyone and there are times when we cannot.
Room Tip: we have 76 rooms and 60 of our rooms are on the ground level and 16 are on the second floor. If a guest request a ground level room we more than likely are able to accomodate them.

Thank you,
Cynthia and Staff of Knights Inn Boston/Danvers, Ma.

After reading the T.A. reviews on lodgings in the Boston area, I booked three nights at this motel. We found the beds to be very comfortable and room was neat and clean. Breakfast was adequate and there was Coffee and tea available 24/7. The grounds and pool were neatly kept and clean.

Arriving on Weds night, the motel looked to be fully booked. The location is about 8-10 mins from the train leaving Salem to Boston, saving us money on gas and parking fees, as well as travel time.

The front desk was very nice, especially on check-out morning. Getting a parking ticket at the train station (due to confusion as to which parking machine went to which parking lot). The desk clerk gave us an envelope in which to mail the fees and gave us a photocopy of the ticket and payment for our records.

Room Tip: The motel is down the hill from the highway. When entering the driveway, there is a large restauran...

Very large rooms. Was happy with cleanliness. TV was old and had color issues. My biggest issue was the quality of the beds, but I would stay here again for the $68 a night. Great restaurant on the hill called Timothy's. Great food made from scratch and very reasonable. Pool wasn't open for our visit, but looked well maintained. Great hotel close to Boston, Salem, and.Gloucester. Hard to beat unless you have extra money to burn. Several local cheap activities for kids on rainy days too.
