Couldn't believe how nice this hotel was! The room and lobby were very clean. The bed was very comfortable. My kids loved the indoor and outdoor pool. The breakfast had a nice variety of food, eggs, cereal, waffles, etc. Coffee/tea/hot chocolate was served throughout the day.

Room Tip: We found a coupon for the hotel on the way there and they honored it. We stopped at McDonald's o...

We had a wedding in Danvers on a Friday night so opted to stay here for two nights. We got a good rate - check in was easy - reservations were intact. A comfortable king size bed with a side chair and ottoman. Room was clean. Linens, decorations, furniture were average. Lighting was good was nice because I am a reader. The a/c was blasting and kept us nice and cool as we like. We heard very little from any other guest. The bathroom was a bit on the small size but functional. A small fridge and a coffee maker and we were comfy for the weekend. We took a nice ride to Salem for our sightseeing and it was fun. We did partake of the included breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. A nice hot waffle, breakfast sausage, and made our own english muffin, egg canadian bacon sandwich. We were on the fifth floor if that matters to anyone. We would stay there again. My one drawback would be they have the tiniest pillows.

Room Tip: One side of hotel does face east so if you don't want the sun in the morning request a different...

My husband and I were looking for a hotel that was halfway between Boston and Portsmouth, NH and this hotel fit that requirement perfectly. We got a great rate and when there was a problem with our online booking, we had very nice communications with the staff prior to our arrival to resolve the problem. The hotel is in a great location and only about a ten minute drive from the huge NorthShore Mall. The hotel is very clean and the lobby seems to have been very recently updated. The staff was very friendly when we checked in. Our room was spacious and also very clean and had the bath amenities you would need for a stay. The breakfast in the morning was VERY crowded but the staff worked hard to keep everything stocked. It was standard fare -- cereals, breads, yogurts, fruit, but it also had a make-your-own waffle station as well as eggs and sausage. Overall, even though we only stayed for one night, I was very satisfied with our stay and would stay again.

Do NOT stay here if you have a child or children...we were warned of this before by a relative near Boston, but got to experience it in a horrible way.....It was after check-out time, no guests were in near rooms, we were staying over 5 days. My little boy bumped his head on the door, then a chair fell over when I was taking my jeans off the back of the chair...Well, the Manager came knocking on the door, I opened it, he angrily said "Be out of here in 15 minutes or I'll have the Police escort you out!"...You can imagine how horrifying and shocking this was! and if you are a parent, you can surely understand!. I said Why what's wrong? He said "All this banging, it happens when there are kids a lot.".....I said please don't call the police, my goodness, will scare my child! So we hurriedly packed up (we were planning on staying 4 more days so we were not ready!) It was very traumatic. PLease avoid this place esp if you have children. We were 1500 miles from home, treated very rudely by the manager.

Room Tip: Do NOT stay here!

Comfort Inn Danvers is approximately a 25 minute drive to Boston. The cost savings is well worth the drive as hotels right in Boston are at least twice the price, and many will charge you for parking (parking is free at Comfort Inn, Danvers). The hotel was very convenient, and was centralized for excursions to Boston, Salem and Gloucester.

Tip:
When you stop for gas along the Interstate while driving to Boston, grab a couple of the free Hotelcoupon books. They have coupons that will save you about $60 a night on most hotels. When we checked in, we were told that the coupon was only good for one night, and we would have to pay full price for additional nights unless we had additional coupons. We were prepared to print more coupons off of the internet in order to get the additional savings, but the manager on duty the next morning told us that it wasn’t necessary, and she extended the coupon for the remainder of our stay.

Staff:
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided us with maps and brochures, they recommended restaurants, they pulled and printed directions off of the internet for us, they explained how to use the T (their public transit system), etc. They really went out of their way to help us. When we returned at the end of each day, they always asked us how our day was and what we had done, and they seemed genuinely interested in hearing our stories. It was like talking to friends.

Room:
The room was clean, but did have a stale odour to it when you first walked in. I guess it happens when you have many guests that stay in a room with carpeting. The odour wasn’t that bad, and you didn’t even notice it after a few minutes. Outside of that, I couldn’t fault the room. The room had a good size fridge that worked very well, a new microwave, and a coffee maker. The flatscreen tv worked well. Our king size bed was very comfortable with quality sheets and lots of pillows (we had 5). The room had a sitting area and a desk. The hairdryer in the bathroom was a typical hotel hair dryer, so not as efficient as the one at home, but it did the job. The bathroom had granite on the walls and counter, and was very well stocked with towels and washcloths. There was an ice machine and pop machine on every second floor. Everything was very convenient. And if you have forgotten anything (shampoo, razor, shaving cream, etc), they have a supply at the front desk that you can ask for.

Perks:
-Wifi is available throughout the hotel complex and works well
-Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and ice water are always available (free) in the lobby.
-They have 2 computers with a printer available for guests to use
-There is a security guard on duty
-They have an exercise room (They were just completing renovations on this while we were there.)

Pool:
There are 2 pools (indoor and outdoor). The pool areas are clean. Inside, they have tables and chairs around the pool. Outside they have loungers, chairs and tables. There were plenty of loungers during the week, but it was harder to get a lounger on the weekend when it is busier. The only downfall with the outdoor pool is that it should have been built on the other side of the building. By 4:00 in the afternoon when your day is done and you want to relax pool side, the sun had passed the building so you were sitting/swimming in the shade.

Breakfast:
Free buffet breakfast includes: scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, yogurt, cream cheese, cold hard boiled eggs, bread (bagels, English muffins and sliced bread), assorted pastries, 3 kinds of cereal, make your own waffle station, juice, fresh fruit (apples, oranges, bananas and pears), oatmeal, coffee/tea/hot chocolate. It was a very nice start to the day.

Summary:
This was a convenient, clean hotel with friendly staff and good amenities. With the coupon, we got an excellent deal ($85/night weekdays and $105 on the weekend). We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: Pick up a free Hotelcoupons book at a gas station off of the Interstate for about 30% off.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel Friday and Saturday night to attend a wedding. The rehearsal dinner was in Saugus, the ceremony was in Andover and the reception was right up the street at the Glen Magna Farmstead. Others at the hotel with us included family and friends.

Pros: the workers were all very friendly and accommodating (saw an employee go out of her way to help a woman, struggling with little kids, carry a woman's breakfast to her room), the room was okay, the location was excellent for attending a wedding reception at Glen Magna Farm, the breakfast had many choices and was okay for mass-production, the outdoor pool was decent albeit with no real shade to counter the sun

Cons: they advertise a gym but the room is under construction (there is a treadmill and stepper but they're in the indoor pool room and face up against a wall), the AC kicked on and off in the mornings like a snooze alarm, the water pressure in the shower was poor, there are no restaurants/bars in close vicinity but Route 1 is a short ride away, the bed was mostly uncomfortable and the bedspread was concerning

In general, I'd probably look around for other options if there's a next time but the hotel was good to us for the weekend we were there.

While the location of this hotel was good for getting to nearby attractions/commuter rail, it was the most uncomfortable room and bed we have slept in in a long time. Just visibly looking at the bed when we walked in the room, the mattress was obviously lumpy and worn. It was evident many many many many people had slept in the beds. Laying down in the beds proved this fact; the mattress was saggy and had dips where others had slept in years gone by, and the 'blanket' and carpeting was quite worn as well. Additionally, the room felt damp from the nearby swimming pool and a large light was positioned right outside the window, keeping the room very bright at night.
