Party of 5. Arrived at 4:55PM on Sunday and had to wait 20 minutes for a table which is the exact wait they told us. Scallop wrapped in bacon app, Caesar salads plenty big to split, soft shell crab special, scrod with lobster crumb special, fried scallops and filet mignon were all excellent. Extensive beer list but all bottles. Service which is usually quite good was very poor. Waitress did not greet us for at least 10 minutes and was generally slow and indifferent for the rest of the meal. We think she might have been new. Decor is very nice. Although this is by far our favorite restaurant in the area we rarely go anymore because the waits are crazy every day of the week, there is no longer call-ahead for reservations and the restaurant is deafening most nights. The outdoor seating is much more pleasant but unfortunately wasn't open because of recent rain.

We stopped at Fishbones for an early dinner (about 5 pm) on a week night. We did not have a reservation and were seated right away. The place feels clean, open and modern. Service overall was excellent.
Oysters and steamers for appetizers were fresh and our whole party (4 diners) loved their entrees. We can recommend the tuna steak, sea scallops, haddock and bass.
We will definitely return.

I would have never guessed I was eating at a restaurant in Chelmsford from the look and feel of Fishbones; it has an almost beachy ambiance. The restaurant was well suited for date night or a family dinner, and we saw lots of both. The seafood selection is great, and the food was well prepared. We ordered the clams appetizer, swordfish, and salmon, all were fantastic. Good selection of beer and wine, as well.

walked in without a reservation and got seated on a busy night in less than 20 min's , the service was great and accommodating and the waitress had much patience with us even after spilling a drink on the floor and to top it off replaced it free of charge ,out of the appetizers we got were shrimp cocktail they were huge fresh and delicious calamari was fried just right and the spicy marinara they came with was awesome , i got the peppercorn tuna with asparagus and mashed and the dish was amazing , everyone of my group's meals was a hit , food was very fresh and tasty , we all were impressed highly , although the outside is very suttle as i see they tried to blend in with the old historic look of downtown chelmsford but looks are deceiving , once inside the awe effect kicked in , very nice and up to date and classy establishment i cant beleive i havent stopped here sooner , i will be visiting this place quite a bit more chelmsford has theirself something going on with this place ! for the price portion quality and service id give it 5 stars i was overly happy with this place and i will return .... many more times !

When a "20 minute" wait turns into 90 minutes something is wrong. The restaurant is extraordinarily noisy. Seafood used to be good but think they are trying to increase margins by cheapening it now. Seafood casserole had this awful topping - like canned breadcrumbs soaked with butter. It was not crispy or fresh and ruined what could have been a great dish.
