This was our last stop on a tour of New England before driving back to Boston to fly home. We got a warm welcome from Judy, who gave the clear impression that she wanted us to be 100% satisfied with our stay, which we were.
Whilst our room was compact compared to some others we had stayed in, it was clean and well appointed. We appreciated the edible freebies in the room and the use of the Inn's library of DVDs.
Ray and Judy gave us tips on where to have dinner and the sightseeing possibilities nearby, which helped. Watching a boat unload its catch at the fish quay, with seals in attendance, was good fun late one afternoon. Visiting in October, things were generally quite but not so our two choices for evening meals (Chatham Squire and Impudent Oyster), both of which were lively and enjoyable.
The breakfasts at the Inn were delicious, the fresh fruit salad being particularly good. Hot drinks and snacks are also available at other times and all the staff were very friendly. I hope we can return some day and take in the whale watching which other guests we spoke to had tried and were delighted with.
