“Great Family Oriented Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

This is a great beach for families. There is a small "stream like" area for kids to wade in and catch little minos. Most families set up over there. However, the beach-ocean part is very nice. There are sandbars you can walk all the way out to and the waves are nice and calm. The only turn off is the seaweed in the first 3 feet of walking into the water. One you're in its really very nice. There is also a snack shop with italian ice and burgers etc. My family has had so much fun at this beach, it never gets old.

“plovers ruining beach”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

too long a walk from the parking lot to a good spot because most of the beach is roped off for those dumb birds. If they can't make it with this much help, then they are not meant to be....kind of like why dinosaurs and such aren't here anymore. I remember a childhood filled with great memories of Ridgvale, too bad those birds took over that site. And they really only want to be there for a few months to boot!

“Clean, Pretty, and Relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

Worth the trip down the windy road. The parking is $15 per day but we managed to trek it almost a mile to avoid the fee. The beach is free, it has a place to rent beach items, a place for snacks, and most importantly restrooms. The parking lot attendant was very nice and accommodating. It was a short walk to the beach and even though it was crowded, it still felt calming and relaxing, as the sun and breeze allowed us to take in the Cape. The marshes combined with the coast line and shingled houses were a treat to see up close and personal. Great beach and would definitely visit again.

“Fabulous beach for families with children of all ages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

This beach has it all! For the younger crowd, the waves in the Nantucket Sound are very calm and easily manageable. There was a bit if seaweed, which didnt thrill my kids. However, there is also a seaweed free tidal river which fills during the day and provides a great spot for kids if all ages to splash about in warm, shallow water. Floatables are allowed in the tidal river, but not on the Sound, which is protected by lifeguards.
For older kids and adults looking for a greater level of activity, you can rent sail boats and stand up paddle boards at the beach rental shop. You can also rent/ buy beach equipment and buy food from the snack counter.
Parking was $15 for the day or $60 for the weekly pass good at all Chatham beaches. Go early or the lots become full. When the town lot fills, you can park at a private lot for $15 or $60 weekly just at that lot.
Bathroom facilities consist of port-a-potties.
This is a fabulous spot if you are looking to spend the day at a Cape Beach.
