“How good can a salad be?”
Reviewed August 2, 2010

I had lunch with my wife outside on the deck today. We were in Cape Cod for 2 days and visited CBI for lunch both days. I ordered the lobster salad, as I am on a carb restricted diet. I figured, how good can this be, its a salad. Well, the lobster was perfect and the sauce used to create was out of this world. The greens were perfect. Let me say this very clearly, it TASTED fantastic. I have ordered this dish at other venues, its just not the same. It was 25.00, is that expensive? Yes it is. Was the experience of having a wonderful dish like this, overlooking a spectacular ocean view worth it. YES!

We ate at the main dining room in July and had a fantastic meal. The fois gras with oxtails was some of the best I have ever had. The Halibut was superb! The chef is creative with deserts and we loved uniqueness of them. For example watermelon cubes with a basil sorbet! Fantastic!

“Jared, as Manager of CBI Beach Grill, made the experience excellent”
Reviewed July 7, 2010

We frequently visit the restuarnat at CBI - because of Jared. He goes out of his way to make us feel comfortable, calm around the crowds and wants us happy. This is unique.
Thank you Jared. See you next week

“I have never walked out of a restaurant before!”
Reviewed July 3, 2010

I had looked at the lovely photos of the Inn in my Am Ex platinum book that comes each year, and during a recent trip on Cape Cod, decided to dine here. Made the reservation through Am Ex the week before. Arrived expecting the requested "table with a view", but instead were seated at a table for two, well way from the window (there were tables available, but when we requested one, were told they were reserved.) A large party of ten arrived , very cordial folks who were seated nearby. A waitress spilled an entire tray of drinks all over two of the young ladies sitting there. They got up, drenched in sticky cocktails, and the whole table walked out, kind of stunned. We asked to be moved away from the mess and commotion, which was considerable. The staff had limited English language skills, and we were not able to get them to understand that we just wished to be moved away from the disaster area. We decided they were off their game, and that we should just leave. We offered to pay for the first courses we had eaten, as at this point, just wanted to get away from the chaos. The Restauarant manager was summoned (where had he been when the table of ten was having so many problems??) He was perfectly polite, and needlessly comped our first courses, which was a nice gesture, but really, it could all have been avoided if the staff had been better trained, To be fair, the place and setting is beautiful, and the one course we did finish was good, but the dining room is old fashioned and staffed by very poorly trained personnel. Have a drink or a cup of tea in their bar I suppose, if you just want to see the Inn's setting. But by all means listen to me and to all the other reviewers and AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

“Easter and Breakfast Brunches”
Reviewed April 5, 2010

Stayed at the Inn over Easter Weekend. Somewhat pricey, but reasonable considering atmosphere, quality of food. We are foodies and food was consistently good to excellent. All the staff work hard and are friendly. They do get busy, but we didnt mind lingering our table.

Breakfast Brunch ($20pp) was in the Tavern. Cozy and charming room. Loved the baked goods especially the croissants - the layers were actually crisp and flaky.

Easter Brunch ($88 pp). Included lobster, oysters (good quality), 4 kinds of caviar, sushi, lobster risotto, lamb, prime rib, ham, crab cakes and stunning views. Tons of quality interesting food, less side dishes, but there were enough of those to go around too. Dessert Table included crepes to order, chevre cheese cake, decorate your own cupcake and cookies (kids loved it) and a to die for coffee chocolate cake! A bit noisy at times, but we had young children. Mix of people - some dressed up and others casual in jeans.
