Description: Captain's Table is one of the last family owned restaurants on Chatham Main Street, serving fresh, local seafood and an array of specialties within a classic New England style menu. We offer a casual dining experience by our attentive staff, including service to our outside patio area. If you are looking for a friendly atmosphere where the food speaks for itself, we would love to come in and visit!

The Captain's Table in Chatham Mass, on Cape Cod is cramped, hot and dirty. Overall, for what it is, the menu was overpriced, the diningroom in need of a deep clean and the food lack luster. After swimming all morning with my husband and 1 yr old daughter, we came seeking some rich and comforting classic Cape Cod chowder. We were sorely dissapointed in the obviously fake canned soup served with stale (open and likely recycled )cracker packets pulled out of our waitress's pocket. I could accept the lack of air conditioning and tacky decor if the food made up for it. But sadly no - the food was a huge dissapointment and the service sketchy. I ordered the Angus burger because of the gourmet topping options ( I chose roasted red peppers and carmelized onions with cheddar cheese). The onions were raw, the red pepper cold from a jar (not even heated) and the burger greasy and overcooked. I had to ask for my side of chips. My husband did enjoy his fried clam plate but went parched the entire meal as he had no drink. If this is the Captain's table- I'd hate the be the Captain!

With all the wonderful seafood restaurants on the Cape this is one to be skipped. The small, unairconditioned, plastic table clothed room needed to be swept & vacuumed. Maybe we would have ignored that if the food was good but with a very limited menu you would hope there was something they excelled at. Fish was only fair & sandwiches soggy. Move on down the road!

Probably best fresh fish specials on Main Street at reasonable prices. Martini's and basic beer/wine available. Nothing fancy, but kid friendly, plus nice outdoor seating area. I think many out-of-towners sneer at the older fashioned interior decor--clean, but older--and walk by. I go here instead of the "rated" overpriced restaurants around town for relaxation and good food (from a former New Yorker).

The Captains is a small and pretty simple restaurant that does serve up some great food in a great location. The restaurant is located along Main Street in the heart of downtown and so if you catch a seat by the window you can watch the activity outside.

The service is great and food is also pretty good. This is a great option if your looking for a nice sit down meal while you are downtown that has good food and isnt to expensive.
