I grew up in Harwich, the town next door to Chatham. I cannot tell you how many times I've visited The Squire since 1979, but it's always been great whether for a beer and a quick bite at the tavern bar, or for a nice meal on the restaurant side. Most recently, my family dined there on New Years Eve. We were a large party of 12, but the service and the food were great. I ordered the Ahi Tuna entree and it was simply excellent. I've never had a bad meal or experience at The Squire. Somebody in the kitchen definitely knows what he or she is doing.

There is nothing like the sweet taste of a cold Chatham oyster. The Squire has the best on the Cape. The fish and chips also are noteworthy. They are not heavily coated with excess batter and grease. They are light and because of this you can taste the fresh delicious fish.

Ate here twice on a resent weekend trip to the Cape. Staff was attentive, food excellent and a great atmosphere. Even the 60's & 70's cover band was excellent. This is my new favorite place for all things seafood related on the Cape. No more long trips out to P-Town.

We arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon to a very busy restaurant (in the off-season). Clearly this speaks to the quality of the food. We enjoyed several of their many "daily specials" and everyone enjoyed their meal - the fish & chips was the best of our choices, but there were no disappointments.

Service was friendly & prompt, the atmosphere is extreme casual & comfortable, a very good visit.

We've never had a bad meal or warm beer here in well over 30 years. Off season it is great fun to meet and chat with the locals. The entertainment has always been excellent. Steamers, steamers, steamers....say no more
