This restaurant has been a fixture for over 30 years in the village of Chatham and is still going strong as a solid place for a meal and a popular watering hole for young people on the bar side. It's always crowded for meals during the peak summer months but you can usually get in quickly for dinner if you go before 5:30. No reservations are accepted.

The seafood offerings are the best, especially their swordfish specials. Service is generally friendly and efficient and large groups are accommodated. Decor is a bit dark and can feel worn at the end of a busy evening. The Squire is a part of Chatham's fabric and should be experienced if possible.

Great place for drinking and dining alike - the main bar is large and usually very busy. Menus change daily and there's a great selection!

A local shop owner recommended The Squire while we were braving a cold spring day on the Cape. We were vacationing just before the summer season started, so the crowds had not yet hit the area. We found casual dining at its best here. Great food. Lots of local flavor. Great people-watching spot. We'll be back.

My family and I stop every year here for the great chowdah and atmosphere. The menu is standard pub fare, but it's such a good place to stop in the heart of quaint Chatham. There is a reason this restaurant has been here for 30 + years, and if you are lucky enough to be served by the owner himself (!), perhaps at one of the back bars, you may hear some of the local lore. At night the bar area turns into a fun spot for twentysomethings, and two summers ago we spotted Harry Connick Jr. chowing down here too. Not to be missed in Chatham!

We very much enjoyed this restaurant - even the kids! The portions were large, and very good. The menu is varied and there is something to suit everyone, The place was recommended by frequent visitors from our hotel and they were right!
The sole francaise was delicious as was the chicken piccata and the cioppino. The server recommended a great glass of wine which was very much enjoyed.
Service was friendly, efficient and attentive. The dining room can get a bit chilly, so bring a sweater. We arrived about 5:30, and were seated immediately, but there was a line by 6:00.
