“good place to buy lobster”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

An incredible place of authenticity and a shop where fish and seafood are very fresh. A little hard to find, but it is also what makes the joy of discovery!

Unloading of the fish was really neat.....also enjoyed the seals playing. Don't plan on buying fish their...unless you bring stacks of cash!

“Interesting to see fisherman unloading daily catch and fun to observe the seals; Good seafood prepared at market”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

We stopped by for about a half hour early afternoon to watch the fishing boats unload their catch. Good viewing from a deck which would get a bit crowded from time to time. Bring your camera to get some photo's of the boats, fisherman, harbor and especially the seals who hang out around the docks. You can purchase seafood at the market to take home for preparation or have a meal cooked for you on the premises. It's takeout food but there are a few picnic tables on the grounds. Excellent fish and chips. No options other than seafood in case all in your party aren't seafood lovers.

“Great to see, but be prepared for parking chaos”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

The pier and fish market was a side stop that we hadn't expected much from. As it turns out, we loved watching the boats get unloaded, the seals swimming around the catch the remnants, and all the excited tourists. Do arrive a little early though, since the viewing platform off the pier is a bit limited. Also, the parking is horrible, so plan to park quite a distance away and then walk to the pier.

While you're there, be sure to try some food at the fish market. We sampled several types of sushi, as well as their fried shrimp, and it was lovely. There is also a nice beach and lighthouse close by, so we chose to take our food down the road to the beach and eat there. Made for a great setting and inexpensive outing.
