“Nice location near Downtown Chatham, Cape Cod”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

This inn has an Victorian, Cape Cod feel, with fresh upgrades. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great. The room was baby friendly, and we even stayed in after tromping around town all morning, because we just wanted to relax an enjoy the pool. If we would return to Chatham, we would definitely book a room here again.

Well run and clean - what you would expect from a B and B Cape Cod Style. Service was top notch and friendly. The decor is a little worn but really just adding to the charm vs. being an issue. Breakfast was excellent and I highly recommend the fish cakes!

My husband and I booked a last-minute long weekend at the Queen Anne Inn and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. We typically stay at more modern hotels so we were at first unsure about staying at an older inn, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Ours had a private balcony and hot tub overlooking the pool area which was very nice. Breakfast was included with our room which we did not realize when we booked. The Queen Anne is conveniently located within walking distance to town and was a lovely setting for a relaxing weekend.

We stayed at the Queen Anne with our extended family for 4 nights. We had a great time and the service was impeccable!
We occupied 5 rooms and all were fresh and very tastefully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and served by very charming and accommodating waitresses. We had some dietary restrictions in our group which we failed to mention prior to our arrival, but nevertheless, all our needs were met promptly and efficiently.
Gabi was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our spontaneous gatherings at their Lounge Bar. Joana and Joanie at the front desk were always eager to help with directions and were very informative about the area.
Everybody seemed to be enjoying their guests and everything ran very smoothly and well organized.
We will definitely return!
Thank you all for your hospitality!

I waited until our return home before writing this review in order to compare our experience at the Queen Anne Inn to the other historic B&B we were staying in during our US stay. Sadly the comparison is not favourable.

The Queen Anne is an old building and we were not expecting state of the art amenities, but good service and a convenient spot to stay in Chatham. It was great to borrow some towels and beach chairs on one day so we could go to the beach.

Our experience was clearly not the same as other reviewers during the summer. Our room had an odd smell, that in the end we decided was the a/c unit. The a/c units in both the room and the bathroom were very noisy but were needed as the room was very warm. One of the chairs on the balcony was broken and speedily removed when this was reported, however we had to ask again for replacement and then one of the replacement chairs was not in the best condition and difficult to sit on.

It was the breakfast service that was the real frustration. The first day it was fine, our oatmeal and pastries arrived without any real wait. On the second morning we were told that they were out of oatmeal - OK, however I still do not understand why it took close to an hour for a bowl of bran flakes and a plate with muffins, toast and pastries to arrive, the waitress tried to excuse this as due to a large group arriving unexpectedly . However the long wait for a continental breakfast was repeated on the third morning - a long delay for the order to be taken, another 20 minutes to be informed they still did not have any oatmeal, my bowl of fruit arrived at this point but it was another 15/10 minutes for a bowl of bran flakes to arrive for my husband. Another hour for breakfast.

We were then asked for a compulsory $4 gratuity per day for breakfast included in the room rate on check out, when I eventually tracked someone down to give our keys to as there was no one on the reception desk at check out time.
It was expensive - £800+ ($1200) through Trailfinders for three nights - and we felt the worst value of our holiday.

I'm sorry to hear your stay with us was a disappointment. You're absolutely right—an hour wait for breakfast is quite excessive. I know it's too late to make a difference, but I apologize for the delay and will have a word with my team about it. I'll also speak with them about your chair situation and difficulty tracking down a staff member at checkout. Our service is usually on point, so I can't imagine what went wrong. Regardless, thank you for bringing the matter to my attention; it's never too late for a training opportunity.

If you're ever in Chatham again and are up for giving us another chance, we'd love to have you back. I know we can do much better.

Take care,

Everyone has a different travel style. Mine varies by destination and mood. If you are looking for a home away from home in a historic inn that has maintained it's character, I can't recommend the Queen Anne highly enough. Each of our three rooms were unique. It felt in many ways like staying in the guest room of a good friend who has a lovely old home. Charm and character may be two of the most overused words in TripAdvisor reviews but both are truly appropriate for the Queen Anne. Each staff member with whom we had the pleasure of interacting were also very friendly, from breakfast room staff to desk staff to innkeepers to groundskeepers. Joanie deserves a special mention for treating each of us like a friend. I also commend the staff for grace under pressure; we had the misfortune of seeing a guest be a bit unreasonable but witnessed the staff diffusing the situation with a firm but gracious touch.
The breakfasts are generous, including the continental breakfast. The default for egg dishes appeared to be a firm yolk so be specific if you would like a runnier yolk. We did indulge in the artisanal cheese and prosciutto plate one evening and it rivalled a cheese plate in a high end restaurant for selection and flavor. Although the inn doesn't officially provide room service, our cheese plate was delivered to our room upon request with the offered tip refused. But then again, at the Queen Anne, guests are treated as valued friends, not customers....
If I'm in Chatham again, I will definitely return to the Queen Anne Inn.

After researching our options on the internet, we chose the Queen Anne after speaking with Joanie and the Innkeeper Manager Petya we decided this would be our choice. We arrived on Sunday morning and borrowed some towels and beach chairs and headed out for a day at the beach. We returned back to the Inn and Joanie checked us into our 2 bedroom cottage. It was amazing..We have stayed at a lot of different places and this was one of the top ones. I was a travel agent for many years and have stayed around the world. This was totally beyond our expectations. Not a single complaint, other than they should invest in flat screen TV's to mount over the fireplace. You couldn't really see it that well with the four poster bed, however, we didn't stay in the room that much, because it was such a beautiful stay in Chatham. Joanie, being a native Cape Codder, was very informative as to where to eat, places to visit etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the Nauset Beach that Petya had recommended that we visit. Top notch beach! My 17 and 20 year old sons loves the waves and we loved the beach for walking...it went on forever...loved it! Gabriella was our breakfast hostess each morning and she was wonderful. Very interesting to talk to regarding the exchange program that the Inn has with the staff from Bulgaria. The cottage was spotless and I will definitely recommend this property for sure and look forward to coming back. The boys loved it as well and we look forward to coming back!

Thanks again to all of you for a wonderful time in Chatham!

Room Tip: We are sure the main part of the inn's rooms are just as nice as the 2 bedroom cottage.

We can't thank you enough for your kind words about our inn, Lisa! Cape Cod is not only where we work — it's our home, which is why you can always count on us to tell you about the hidden gems you should check out while you're in town. It's great to hear the cottage was exactly what you and your family needed for your visit. As you mentioned, most of our guests don't spend too much time in their rooms, but we'll certainly keep your suggestions in mind about the flat screen televisions. We'll look forward to hosting you and your family next time you're in town!
