Beautiful views of the water. There is a walking trail and map however once you get to the beach it is hard to find the trail back through the marsh/woods. Once we found it the trail turned out to be flooded and unwalkable. We did not see many animals other than the typical crab. It was a beautiful walk however and free!

I live locally and have visited the Refuge hundreds of times. But you can really learn to appreciate the wildlife when you take a little tour inside (free) and learn about nature. Be sure to take a seal tour on the Rip Ryder AWESOME bring the whole family

Beautiful location and great wildlife viewing. They could use more signs designating which areas are private and which are public

A wonderful place to experience unspoiled nature. We spotted a pair of horseshoe crabs mating in the shallows by the shore, an osprey on its nest, and various other sea birds, shells, and interesting rocks during a late afternoon walk on the beach. The ranger in the visitor's center was very informative, as we're the exhibits. A rare opportunity to see some of these amazing pre-historic creatures in their natural habitat in an area that is trying to preserve them from being used for bait.
