*Rafting with Crab Apple whitewater is always a fun and fantasic adventure. Between the guides cracking jokes to calm you down before you hit the river, to making sure you are safe to the end of the last rapid.
* I have run the Monroe Bridge secton many of times. Everytime i run this river I learn something new and get a different ride everytime. They start out with going over the commands so you can get use to your guides voice and get you psyched to head for your first rapid of the day. Pulling in and out of the eddies to wait for your turn and also making sure everyone is safe, this way they can talk to you about the history of the river, what is coming next and giveing you tips on having a great ride. At the end of the day you go back to base and are served a great barbique dinner where you get a few choices to choose from. After having fantasic food you are shown a slide show of all the pictures that were taking on your trip of all the boats. What a fun day.
* The family that owns Crab Apple whitewater both in Maine and Massachusettshave shared their love for the sport with guides and custumers for generations. They take pride in this company and everything that goes into it. From the safety lecture at the beginning, all the way to the end where they all line up and say goodbye.
* I have had some great times with Crab Apple and plan on having many more fun full adventures. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend Crab Apple Whitewater for you rafting adventures. They also run family float trips, funyaks (inflatable kayaks) so the whole family can enjoy a triip.
Thanks for a great time

We rafted in the Charlemont, MA region with Crab Apple and it was a truly memorable trip. I was quite nervous going into it, but the guides all had great senses of humor and made me feel comfortable. The trip was exhilarating, full of laughs, and the barbecue at the end was great too. Highly recommended for rafters of all levels - you won't be disappointed!

I went to Crab Apple on the Deerfield River in Western Mass with 12 other friends for a day of rafting. The whole day ran like a tight ship. We were given helmets and paddles and then briefed on safety and what to expect on the river. After the briefing, we were bused to the dam and made our way on to the rafts. Everything was set up and ready for us when we arrived. Our guide, Tom-o was extremely knowledge and personable. It seems like all the guides that worked for Crab Apple were very out-going and liked to have a good time.

The river was amazing and we picked a great day to go. Tom-o gave us all the information we needed prior to each rapid and everyone in my raft had a blast. After a couple of hours of rafting, we pulled to the side of the river and ate some Gorp, supplied by Crab Apple. After our snack, we had a couple more hours of rapids. After we enjoyed some lemonade before we were bused back to enjoy a cookout. The food was delicious. We enjoyed unlimited chips and salsa while the crew cooked. I picked the steak option early that morning so I enjoyed a plate of pasta salad, potato salad, grilled steak and a brownie for dessert. Finally, we were shown a slide show of pictures taken that day while on the rapids.

This was my first time at Crab Apple and it was an enjoyable experience. The staff was very friendly and organized. The whole day ran very smoothly and everyone in my party of 13 had a blast. I plan on making this an annual trip based on my experience. Thanks again Frank and Tom-o.

Crabapple is such a personal rafting outfit. Everything about it said they cared about us having a good time! We went on a "non guaranteed" day but had no problem with the water release. We rafted the Deerfield-Fife section of the river which was great for first timers.
After the safety demos (which ended up coming in handy so pay attention!), we met our group and our guide (Ben S.) and loaded up for lunch. Ate a very adequate picnic lunch in a park area. Most impressive was that the guides sat with their groups getting to know them. By the time we got to the river, we felt like a team. We had a 9 year-old and 13 year-old and Ben spent a long time making sure everyone was comfortable with their role in making it downriver. Had a great time swimming when the water was deep enough. The water fight at the end was FUN!
The equipment was first rate just like the rest of the company. We even got a follow up postcard from our guide after we got home. Classy!
