“Cool Zip-Line Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012

My son and I went on the Mountain Top zip-line tour, and had a great time. The whole experience was great - the zip lines are really fun, the staff makes you feel safe, and the scenery is great.

They have three tours, and this is the middle one. You ride up to the top on the ski lift, and then get 7 zip-line runs of varying lengths and speeds (one-dual run is cool too). If you've never been zip-lining before this is the right first trip. They have the Valley Jump tour, which is their extreme tour, that also has 7 zip-line runs, but they are longer and much faster. If you're up for that - that's you're tour. Now that my son and I have been once, we're going to take the Valley Jump tour next time.

Not only does the staff do a great job of making you feel safe, they're good people and add a nice touch to the trip.

This was a really great way to spend half-a-day with family or friends. There's a little town, Shelburne Falls, that's only about 15-minutes away that has some nice restaurant options and a couple of other things to do that really makes for a nice day trip.

Do it......

“Awesome small ski area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2012

Great small ski area, never crowded, mellow vibe, really fair prices. Though its a small Place the conditions of the snow are usually as good or better than the big places. For example yesterday it was icy at a large ski area in vermont but nice soft corn at berkshire east. Its a pretty young local crowd, and everyones always smiling. My tips would be the tune shop and the bar both in the base lodge. Of note the lodge was built of locally harvested timber from when the ski trails were cut.

“Unexpectedly great conditions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2012

When I got up this morning I didn't know whether to rake my lawn or go skiing. I'm happy to report that skiing was my choice and along with several friends I enjoyed an amazing day of skiing with perfectly groomed trails. My skiing at this area dates back 50 years to the Thunder Mountain days. Since that time, I've witnessed several years of transitions that did not do the area justice. The Schaefer family who now own tBerkshire East seem to have gotten everything right with great snowmaking and grooming as well as perfect lift capacity that controls overcrowding on trails. It's a friendly ski area with all the amenities, including great instruction for learn to ski people as well as development and race programs.

“Close, reasonable, and in great shape.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2012

The lack of natural snow may keep people from hitting the slopes, but Berkshire East can make the woods white. The skiing 1/19 was very good, and it started snowing at 7pm and got even better. the lodge gets crowded with the busloads of kids and racers, but the lift lines are short, and the trails not crowded.
The $4 water in the lodge made me feel like I was at Fenway Park, but the $4 pizza was very tasty.
I hadn't been night skiing there for years, and noticed a lot of dark areas that could use a little enlightenment, but the smooth trails allowed you to pass unscathed.
