I simply can't say enough about CDK House or its owners! We stayed for 2 nights (Fri-Sat) for a wedding nearby. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family (but not in an overbearing, annoying way!). Tom and Rick are so friendly, accommodating and welcoming- they were born to do what they do. The inn itself is lovely, with classic New England decor and several screened-in porches on which to relax and/or have breakfast.

We had the flagship room- the Captain Kelley- and it was beautiful! Classically and tastefully decorated with modern amenities (flat panel TV, DVD player, internet, CD player/alarm clock). Comfortable and spacious. Plush bathrobes were provided and delicious, gourmet chocolates were left as part of the nightly turn-down service.

The breakfast was outstanding. You'll be served fresh-baked fruit/nut scones (they collect scone recipes as a hobby!), fresh fruit salad, a hot, freshly made entree (we had a prosciutto/goat cheese/basil/onion bake one morning and two different quiches the next) and a wide selection of juices, coffees and teas. Cheese and crackers were also set out late afternoon for anyone to enjoy with their own wine...

But back to Tom and Rick- they are phenomenal. You can tell they love what they do and it makes all the difference in their guest experiences. When we arrived back to the B&B one afternoon, they were just coming back from an auction of local artists' work. They had purchased a lovely little painting and hung it right then and there in the dining room. They put so much thought and personalized touches into CDK House, I don't know that I'll ever be able to stay at a Holiday Inn again.

Later that afternoon, we were ready for the wedding and asked them if they would take a moment to photograph us for our own wedding announcement which was going to be in the next week's paper. They took more than just a moment. They picked the perfect setting and lighting and kept taking photos until we had one we loved. Then, when we got home from the wedding that night, we found a card and a little something from them in honor of our upcoming marriage. It was beyond thoughtful and really made our whole stay there so special.

We were sad to leave and can't wait to visit again, maybe next summer for our one year anniversary!

They've only been open a couple of months, but Rick and Tom run their B&B like old pros and I wish them all the best! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a stay at CDK House!!!

New owners took over last fall and the place is absolutely terrific. The house is fabulous, the owners are great hosts, the breakfast is great and every detail is taken care of. We arrived early and Tom and Rick welcomed us in to leave our things and helped set us off on a fun day with maps and recommendations. We came back to a wonderful afternoon on the porch with cheese, crackers and fruit. It was so relaxing and great to meet a few new friends. We stayed in the Captain Kelley room - it was so nice and the bed was very comfortable - the gourmet chocolate on the pillow was a real surprise! The next morning we woke up early, grabbed a cup of coffee from the Kuerig coffee maker and went for a wonderful walk to the beach and around the neighborhood. We were welcomed back to a breakfast of scones, fresh coffee, juice, fresh fruit and a yummy strata. Unfortunately we had to leave for Boston but we truly loved our stay and will definately plan to go back to the Captain David Kelley House!

B & Bs always rubbed me the wrong way. If you come home late, you gotta tip toe around and in the morning you gotta talk to people you don't know, it's awkward if you ask me. Somehow two nights at the David Kelley House and I'm a B & B guy. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on the lower Cape. This place makes the perfect weekend getaway or make it your first or last night in the cape, maybe combine it with a night in P town for the full Cape experience. This place is a beautiful historic home that's big enough to feel like you're not on top of anyone, it's got the ideal outdoor veranda for breakfast or afternoon tea. Listen to me, I'm talking like a B & B guy all of a sudden. Why would I want to go stay at someone's house? Maybe it's cause the hosts are really cool, they make delicious food and they live in almost an annex close enough for when you need em, but out of your hair when you don't. If you like B & Bs don't hesitate with the Captain David Kelley House and if you don't like B & Bs, that's all about to change.

After staying at many B&Bs, I can definitely say this has been one of the best so far. One of the great things about it was Tom and Rick's enthusiasm about making your stay as good as it could be. It started off with one of the best breakfasts that a B&B can offer. We came down a little early for coffee (Kureig 24/7), and found fresh fruit waiting on the table for us. Soft background music was playing and the fireplace was on to perhaps create a cozy atmosphere more than take off the chill in the air. Then came the fresh baked scones which were splendid. I solicited a little advice on how I could bake mine so they would obtain the same texture. Fresh brewed coffee and juice were also served. The main course (everything was made from scratch) was soooo filling that we usually skipped a full lunch. The Quiche Lorraine was outstanding! Attention to detail was also carried through to the rest of the house with impeccable cleanliness and nice landscaping. They include a turn down service with chocolates, blinds drawn, and lights on...very nice to come back to after dinner. Rick and Tom were also very helpful with information since we didn't bring the laptop with us. We were told of things to do, weather information and good restaurants. Will definitely recommend Cptn. David Kelley House to anyone I know who is traveling to the cape.

We stayed for four nights over the holiday weekend as a way to relax and reconnect, and could not have had a better stay. This is our 5th B&B, and the hospitality, cleanliness, and charm of the Captain David Kelley House is in a league of its own. We stayed in the Captain Baker room which had its own history within the history of the house. We were directly next to the common room which had 24 hours of coffee, books, quiet music, and a glowing fire place. Breakfast every morning was 3 courses, including fresh fruits and home made scones, with an additional delicious main course. The innkeepers, Rick and Tom, made the place seem like home for the time that we were there. We will definately come back and will be recommending the Captain David Kelley House to all our family and friends.

We stayed over in January and really enjoyed it. The house is charming and the owners were helpful. Plus they put on a great breakfast. The beach was close by -- the coast makes for a beautiful walk in January. Completely worth it. Go.

We had the pleasure of staying at Captain David Kelley House. This inn is so charming with two wonderful innkeepers Rick & Tom. They thought of so many details, fresh flowers in our room, (which was immaculate), a basket of goodies that was so thoughtful and just what we needed upon our arrival. We woke-up to the smell of a fresh breakfast, which was Quiche Lorraine, but the best part of the breakfast was the freshly baked scones...YUMMY!
We have recommended this beautifully maintain historical inn to our friends and family. If you like the charm and character of a quaint B & B , you will love Captain David Kelley house.
