“Yummy meat pies”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

Having heard the buzz about this place, decided to drive down last weekend and pick up a few pies. I brought 3 frozen pies: chicken, bbq pork and apple. If you have ever brought frozen pot pies, you won't believe that, based on size, the large pie could feed 4-6 or the small pie could feed 2-3. But they do! The chicken pie was so stuffed full of meat that it made 3 meals for hubby and me! And what wonderful meals they were (although we had to buy more gravy -- hint buy the extra gravy when picking up the pies). The bbq pork pie was incredible; tangy, a touch of sweetness and filling. The apple pie was, eh, average. Hint: stick to the meat pies.

As a long time, local resident I can tell you that the re-birth of the 1950s - 1990s Centerville Pastry Shop into the now new and improved Centerville Pie Company has been gratefully welcomed by this community. The original shop was sorely missed when it closed down in the '90s, but former staffers diligently were able to ressurect it in full glory and more with even big kudos from celebs like Oprah Winfrey to a few TV gourmet chefs.

If you're looking for the very best example of just regular and typical all-American cuisine - from chicken pot pie, burgers, BLTs, hot doggies, to mom Kristen's apple pie - this is the place. The food is openly prepared within the intimate open dining area with staffers and patrons alike having friendly conversation whether you're a visitor or a local regular. Waitstaff is friendly, efficient and happy to engage in conversation. Master Chef Gus is never opposed to meeting your dietary or just quirky requests either and isn't afraid to pitch in and wait tables when it's extra busy or when the waitresses are busy chatting it up with a patron.

This is a small shop with about six tables and counter seats. Have a meal or just a cup of coffee. It has an adjacent bakery shop where one can purchase any one of their delightful, if not sinfully delicious dinner or dessert pies and other baked goods and, the hot or frozen take-out dinner pies are huge here. The moral of this story: Don't deny yourself a visit to a little piece of all American pie!

“For breakfast & lunch you can't beat it.”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Exceptional breakfast menu (don't tell your cardiologist) and a lunch menu which features the standard fare plus an assortment of meat pies. Desserts are great and you can take home the best chicken pies in the country and everything is home made. It was my favorite before Oprah "discovered" it!

“Cute and Simple”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

These pies are good. The staff is great always accomodating. We ordered 4 pies for Thanksgiving and were able to pick them up earlier than expected so we could indulge sooner.

Pros-Chocolate Cream, Banana Cream
Cons-Apple Pie

Would love to try the Chocolate Chip Pie.

Have sat in to eat breakfast as well. Rare style of cooking muffins sliced and on the grill! Fun if you like it like that:)
