“Pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed June 19, 2011

The hotel was nicer than expected. We chose it for location alone as it was near an event we attended in the area. It turned out to be a very nice hotel which was near highways and malls etc, but seemed removed and was in a pleasant green setting. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the pool and exercise area are both very nice. The only critique I'd have would be that the mattress desperately needed flipping. Obviously lone travelers have been sitting and sleeping on the right side of it and as a result there is quite a slope. It''s a comfortable mattress, just lopsided which is an issue for a couple sleeping in a king bed, maybe not for one person - specifically in room #250. Perhaps this is just an anomaly ----

Also, wished they had free WIFI, but there was free plug in internet.

I am very loyal to the Hilton brand. However, the stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences in my life regarding lodging and accommodations. Upon my arrival to the hotel, I was given breakfast coupons. However, when I tried to use them I was screamed to by the restaurant attendant that they were not valid. Previous to that, this same person was very unprofessional and lacked any courtesy in his treatment to my family members and myself. The situation was escalated to the hotel General Manager Mike Towle. The manager implied that I had stolen the breakfast coupons (given to me upon check in) and that I was trying to rip-off the hotel while he spoke to me using a very rough tone. I am really disappointed with the lack of service and courtesy received during my stay. I will consider other alternatives in the future due to the poor treatment received this time at the Hilton Garden Inn in Burlington, MA.

The thing i like about the Hilton network hotels is that they rarely let you down, you know exactly what you are getting for your money in advance and they usually deliver on the money. The same is true for the Hilton garden inn @ Burlington. although it is outside Boston downtown (25-30 minutes drive) this hotel is perfect for business travelers and travelers on the move. The rooms are spotless, the bed is amazingly comfortable, the rooms are reasonable big and accommodated with almost everything one would need (i do think they need to add a shoe shine kit). The staff is very welcoming and helpful and breakfast is very good. in the room they have a big 42'' LCD a microwave, small refrigerator, AC with is working strong a desk also you gotta love the free wifi all around the hotel. i will surely stay here again.

We arrived for mother's funeral just prior to 2 feet of snow being dumped. My smoking room wasn't available the first night and I suspect it was co-opted by an employee bunking in for the storm. But God bless those employees! They went above and beyond the call of duty during an emotional and difficult stay - very few rooms left in the area because of the pending blizzard and the service (digging out of cars, added lunch to meals available) was much appreciated. Best pool in the area in that it was big and warm. No jacuzzi/hot tub. Excellent breakfast.

Location: First of all this hotel is near nothing. Transportation anywhere without a car is impossible or costs a small fortune.

We had a cab charge us $50 to go 4 miles to the nearest T stop at Alewife. There is a hotel shuttle, BUT it only travels within 5 miles of the hotel - so it can't take you to the T, only the commuter rail - which only runs into the city once every hour during the week and once every TWO hours during the weekend. Also, the shuttle only runs every half hour, so you end up waiting at the commuter rail for a really long time. Lastly the shuttle service ends at 11 pm - so they won't come pick you up, and you can get stranded.

Finally, we were never told any of these details about the shuttle service by the hotel employees, but rather figured everything out by trail and error - which meant we were stranded at 11:30 in Lexington square with no way to get home, excpet to call another exorbitant cab. This was AFTER talking to the front desk at 10:45 about needing a ride - no one thought it was necessary to tell us that we wouldn't be able to get back after 11...

AND, we asked for a shuttle at 7 am - they said great. We planned our day accordingly, and went to sleep to be WOKEN UP at 12:30 am by Bedlyne at the front desk telling us, that actually the 7am shuttle was booked - and we had to take the 6:30.

On the upside, the double chocolate chip cookies at check-in were fresh and delicious.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel while visiting our daughter and her husband in Lexington. The room is spacious, nicely furnished and very clean. Every morning there is free coffee or tea and sugar provided. There is fresh fruit provided daily in the lobby and although we didn't use it, there is a restaurant on the property. There is also exercise equipment available for use in your room following along on a TV program, provided free. The staff members were all very gracious, courteous and polite. There is also a back way from Lexington to the hotel so we don't have to go onto Route 95. The place is very close to shopping, historic sites and towns and restaurants. We will definitely stay here as long as we continue to visit our family in Lexington. Thank you.

This is a typical, generic hotel in this category, the kind where if you did not know the name, it could be Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott or any other similar brand. While the rooms are usually comfortable and clean, and the location is why you are there in the first place, and wifi is included in the rate, the breakfast at these places is always inedible, being the supermarket processed food quality. But there were ample choices around to eat.
