“Great B&B with nice caring owners”
Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

Really enjoyed our mid-January stay. The room was very satisfactory, the 4 poster bed had a nice firm mattress and offered a variety of pillows from soft to firm. A nice touch was a small flashlight on the night stand. Our room (The Wellfleet, on the 3rd floor) had a gas fireplace ( which we put to good use during the chilly evening hours) and a jacuzzi ( not large to comfortably fit 2, but was enjoyable and worked well). Because of space constraints the shower, even with a modern, adjustable showerhead was a little difficult.
The inn serves a lovely breakfast and coffee, tea and cookies (made daily) are available around the clock. The Inn does not have an elevator to service the upper floors.
Capt Freeman's is an easy half-mile way to the lovely bayside Breakwater beach. It is also next to old-fashioned The Brewster Store where one can find newspapers to coffee to art supplies to sea candy and a whole lot more!

Heard via e-mail from the owners again which prompted me to review although it's over a year since we stayed. This is a lovely old clapperboard house which appears to have been extended sympathetically. Our room was large with a balcony, very clean and well laid out. The welcome on arrival was very friendly and helpful (it was the owners' son); he also gave excellent tis on local restaurant and made us a booking. the B&B is on a quiet side road a few hundred yards from a very secluded beach. The breakfast dining room is in the extension at the rear and is well laid out. Nice to see some local sausages on the menu but the offer of whipped cream and strawberries to accompany wasn't quite to our taste! Delicious without though... Overall very good value and to be recommended.

My husband and I desperately needed a weekend away and could not have found a better place to stay for two nights recently. Loved the 3rd floor room named Truro! Flowers and truffles on the king size bed greated us! The linens and pillows were elegant, we slept like babies both nights! Loved all the renovations being done to this wonderful house. Breakfast, so personally created and presented, was so delicious and enough to carry you through lunch!! Yummy cookies and biscotti's for the afternoon snack. We hope to visit again soon, perhaps for a cooking class! Loved Nathan, Donna and Byron (and Harrison of course!).

Room Tip: All rooms unique in their own way, but loved top rooms so no ones over you.

The bed and breakfast was very nice, service was excellent, the breakfast was delicious. Just a few steps from the Brewster General store.

The only issue was that the drapes on the windows really didn't block that much light. The room would be flooded with sunshine at like 6:00am. So, we didn't really get to sleep in that much. Other than that, it was great!

Thank you for your lovely review and so glad you enjoyed your stay. We so appreciate when guests give us honest feedback. Our guests comfort is our highest priority at both of our inns. The Wellfleet room was the one room we did not install room darkening shades as we thought the double thick curtains blocked the sun.....your review has us going to Home Depot tomorrow to pick up room darkening blinds:) Thanks again for your honest feedback!

The hospitality of the innkeepers at the Captain Freeman Inwas wonderful duing our visit. Nathan is a gracious host and everything seems geared to the guest experience. The inn and rooms are tastefully decorated yet inviting spaces. We received wonderful restaurant recommendations from Nathan. The inn thoughtfully provides laminated maps with directions to the area restaurants. the breakfast each morning was sustaining and well-presented. We had a wonderful dinner at Buca's and a picnic lunch provisioned from Pain d'Avignon boulangerie and bistro. The latter is located near the Hyannis airport. The charming interior belies the fabricated building exterior. My advice is to relax and let the innkeepers guide you to a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: The Barnstable Room faces the backyard and as a small enclosed sitting area that overlloks it. Perfe...

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon this past August and we couldn't have picked a better spot.

The house and rooms:
The recently renovated house was absolutely stunning. Our room was beautiful, clean and every detail was thought of and attended to, including very nice toiletries in the bathroom and nice robes. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, I haven't slept as well as I did at the CFI in months. Also, the pool is very beautiful and relaxing to sit by.

The food:
The breakfast and baked goodies are amazing. We were consistently impressed each day with how delicious the breakfast was. Also, having constant access to delicious cookies and breads all the time was pretty awesome.

The staff:
The staff were the real star of the show here, if you ask me. So courteous and nice. We also got lots of great recommendations for places to eat and go from them.

The location:
Brewster is an awesome town to stay in because you're central to so many different things. Also, lots of great restaurants. The CFI is specifically in an awesome spot, right next to the Brewster general store which is a cool place. It's also within stumbling distance of The Woodshed, a great dive bar to go to for a drink and some live music. Note that the beach down the street is not the greatest you'll find on the cape, a little mucky and quite a walk out to the water. However, fear not, it will do the job and if you want to go to a great beach, try out Mayflower or Chapin beach which are about a 15-20 min drive away.

Overall:
I can't recommend it enough, now go!

This was one of the best B and Bs we visited on our road trip in New England. The staff were incredibly friendly, full of great recommendations of what to see and where to eat. The rooms were truly devine, with chocolates and flowers on arrival, fire in room, large whirlpool bath and one of the largest, comfiest beds we have slept in! The cooked breakfasts were delicious and the evening treats we're lovely. The lounge is lovely to relax in although we didn't have much time for that. Room was on third floor and there are stairs. If you are staying in Cape Cod definitely check this place out, we highly recommend it and would love to return one day.

Room Tip: Truro was large, bright and romantic. A lovely room.
