We booked three nights at Pepper House. We reserved the family room (we have 2 boys, 3 and 5). The room was huge, comfortable and spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable.
Debbie was very friendly and personable and helpful with touristy suggestions. She catered to my fussy eaters and made sure they were happy. She was kind enough to allow the boys to run around in the background. I was hesitate about going to a B&B as a family but we felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived until the time we checked out.

My husband and I are from the UK and we were visiting the Cape for the first time with no idea of what there was to see and do. Debby's knowledge of Cape Cod is exceptional, every morning at breakfast she would advise us on what we could do, telling us the best places to go to and what to avoid, even down to the best routes to take to avoid traffic jams. Our rooms were cleaned every day providing us with fresh towels, I don't think we would have got better service if we had stayed in a hotel. In my opinion any bad reviews about this pretty bed & breakfast are probably from people who have too high an expectation of a B & B and are probably difficult to please anyway. Thanks Debby and family for making our stay a very pleasant one!

If you enjoy films such as Psycho and Deliverance then this may be just the place for you. If not then drive as fast as you can past this place and don't look back. I wish we had read all of the reviews on the Pepper House before deciding to stay here. Our stay was perfectly described by all of the other negative reviews on Trip Advisor.
God forbid you should get into town a bit early and decide to stop by the Inn to take a look at where you will be staying because you will be sternly told that check in is after 3:00pm and basically shown the door. Same goes for breakfast. Don't plan on heading to the dining room to relax a bit before 8:00am breakfast (which on the website is stated to be at 7:00am) because you will be scolded once again and put in your place.
If you do decide to stay in this musty old home where paintings of evil looking children hang in your room watching you as you sleep, be prepared to be monitored closely by the staff. The lovely Debbie requires your full daily itinerary so that she can better monitor your coming and going (most likely to snoop through your personal belongings more comfortably.)
Norman Bates would most definitely be a more polite and courteous host.
I can only pray that Captain Bangs Pepper does not haunt this ONCE beautiful house, because an eternity in hell would be more pleasant than an afterlife spent with these people.
This review may seem silly but please take it seriously and DON'T let the Pepper House ruin your trip to the Cape as it did ours.

We had a guest book online and come with a 2 year old. Our online listings state that this property is not appropriate for a child younger than 6. If you read this review you see that we told her when check in was and when breakfast was served, yet they arrived always much earlier than the hours of service. If the room is not ready, we can not let the guest check in prior to check in hours, if breakfast is served between 8 and 9:30 - it is not available at 7a.m.
We do ask our guests what their plans are for the day - and we receive many compliments and thank yous for providing thoughtful suggestions of places to see and things to do which enhance our guests' vacations. We are sorry if a guest does not enjoy their stay, but also think that the guest should respect the listed hours that services are provided and not arrive or expect them significantly earlier.

I felt comfortable at the Pepper House Inn. The rate was very reasonable for the 4th of July weekend. The breakfast was good too. Debbie, the innkeeper, was always friendly and had helpful advise on where to go and what to do. The overall appeal of the house was a little tired looking, but clean. My friend had a bit of trouble with her allergies because the house had been built so long ago (Debbie mentioned 200 years old). You cannot beat the location. Parking was free and so was the wireless internet, which was a plus.

Pepper House is a historical place, a 200 years old building, clean and cozy. The location is prime: closed to downtown, to restaurants, to highways, etc. This Inn is deliciously quiet, you can enjoy the get-away, and feel almost home, specially eating the home style full breakfast. Furthermore, the owner is knowledgeable regarding the Cape Cod area+ she pleasantly helps you with places you want to visit. We fully recommend the Pepper House to anyone, and yes, we will visit again.
