We stayed 7 days in Area 6. The site was nice. However the men's bathroom was dirty and smelly. I had to pull my shirt up over my nose just to survive! The shower was dirty as well and the hot water was unreliable. I had to get there at 6 AM to be sure to have hot water. It is interesting that the park service says the campground is full, but in reality there are many empty sites. Not sure what is up with that!

Very quiet, family oriented camping. Close to the beaches, with several fresh water ponds on site, you can't ask for more! This camping is ideal for tents, because there is not a lot of sites with services.

The only down side : you have to reserve at least 6 months in advance, and the process is nerve wrecking (you have to be quick on the mouse, to get the site you want!)

Nice hills for biking and quiet ponds. Restaurants along the way and plenty of nature to see. Easy ride from Brewster.

I have many fond memories of campoing at Nickerson State Park over the years. We don't camp much these days, but the park is still a great place to visit just to sit by a pond or swim. Another great feature is proximity ot the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Bring you bike and you will be able to ride for miles and, if you are ambitious enough, even get to beaches in the Cape Cod National Seashore.

I live on the Cape and as an old Yankee hesitate to let vacationers know about the special places - we like to keep them to ourselves. Sorry, year-rounders, I'm sharing the secret - Nickerson State Park is a great place to park yourself on vacation. Lots of sandy/shady beaches (4 fresh water ponds). Easy to have your own private beach if you do a little hiking. WONDERFUL hiking and biking trails that are well maintained. GREAT campgrounds that are well placed in 7 different areas (you won't believe the price!). The park is huge and trails are placed so that campers aren't bothered by day trippers. Each site has relatively private camping with lots of level space for your tent. The bathrooms are close and well maintained. Great shower building. Camping store on main road. FREE to day trippers. Worth the time and effort to get there.
