The staff here is amazing. They really treat everyone like family. Unfortunately it's not the first time I've stayed at a Hyatt Place where the facilities are not quite as wonderful as the staff -- but they put their all in to your stay to make it wonderful. The issue here is the hotel is dated but yet meets the standard Hyatt Place standards. I was first surprised to open the door to the room and not find the cutesy modern feel I've come to know as staple. Instead, the room was really bland with no window decor, just a white pull down shade. The bathroom amenities were really poor with a mixture of new and worn towels. 3 of us woke up and simultaneously said the same thing - worst bed we've ever slept on.

On the other hand, breakfast was a joy - mixture of the hots and the colds with pleasant service all round. Another feature is this hotel is attached to a Legal seafood restaurant which sits above a Ben & Jerry's. It's also across from a very large mall.

It was too cold to use the outdoor pool, however, the best surprise was to discover a full and well-stocked gym, indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna on the first floor. I'm not sure, but they emphasize this is separately owned, but yet it is still complimentary to hotel guests.

We did sleep, we just didn't sleep well. It's convenient to Boston and the staff is great.

Thank you for your very honest review of the hotel. As mattresses and decor are difficult features of a room to satisfy all customers, I am very appreciative of your feedback. I am thrilled that you enjoyed our delicious breakfast and the complimentary usage of the Atlantis Sports Club.
I hope to see you again in the future.

This is not your typical Hyatt Place, where the rooms are more suite-like and have a pull-out sofa that accommodates an extra person. We didn't know this when booking our room and as such, on check-in faced a dilemma of not having enough beds for the family. The staff's solution was to give us an extra room at no extra cost. This kind of attention to customer service, while unfortunately rare, is not unusual for Hyatt Place in general as a brand, but still was very much appreciated.

The rooms could use a tad sprucing up, but very comfortable beds. Free parking in Boston is alone worth the 12-mile trip south on Route 93. Easy on/off, but a quick tip - when getting back onto 93 North towards Boston, you have to quickly merge left across three lanes of traffic to access the on ramp. In rush hour, it may be impossible.

Thanks again Hyatt Place staff for your outstanding commitment to customer service!!

The rooms are spacious and clean and the cooked breakfast is to die for. The staff were exceptional. All in all, I have no reservations in recommending this hotel. I'm definitely returning. And as a plus, there is a good selection of restaurants within walking distance and an upscale mall nearby.

Great: Nice rooms; lots of FREE parking; shuttles to train; very clean; friendly and efficient service; shops within walking distance; large mall across the street; free breakfast and large breakfast area; fast wifi; quiet.

Okay: Location for visiting Boston; fitness center but no pool; decent price for a Hyatt hotel; A/C is noisy but works well.

Not so great: Nothing. Everything was fine.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Braintree because of its location near the highway which took us in to Boston. While it’s a direct 15-20 minute drive to downtown, more likely you have to double or even triple the travel time due to the traffic and construction.

It was also reasonably priced. $200 a night might seem a bit high but compared to any hotel of comparable quality in downtown at the height of summer travel, it was at least a third less plus the parking, breakfast, and wifi was free so that’s additional value there.

It’s a very nice, clean hotel with a wide, open lobby and bright hallways. Our room (double full-size beds) was very spacious with modern décor and bathroom fixtures. There was a large flat-screen television and a very comfy sectional sofa off to the side of the beds. I thought it might work well to actually have the beds separated by the sofa (so that the sofa is more aligned with the television and there’s more personal space between the beds), but that’s just a suggestion. The A/C worked well. It was a bit loud, but I’m beginning to realize that this particular, common, design is usually kind of noisy.

Breakfast was very nice with some different twists on the usual offerings: croissants or bagels topped with things like eggs, cheese, mushrooms, spinach, etc. Lots of fresh fruit, juices, breads, and cereals as well, along with good brewed coffee and a quality selection of Tazo teas. The staff refreshed the food right up to the end of service at 9:00 a.m. (which seems a little early to me…perhaps 9:30 instead?)

The fitness centre is on the main floor which, while not so large, has a variety of workout machines. I only wished that they had a pool as well.

The staff were polite. We were always greeted by the maid service whenever we passed them in the hall and each day we would return to the room and find it made up as if we were brand new guests.

Despite the time it gets into the downtown area from Braintree, I still would consider staying at Hyatt Place if the price remained reasonable.

Thank you very much for the very detailed and excellent review. I wanted to apologize for poorly communicating during your stay that in fact we have both an indoor as well as an outdoor (seasonal) pool! Come stay with us again and enjoy the pools on your next visit to the area!

Very clean, nice hotel. Very pretty rooms. It's in the mid-range of pricing for a hotel but it was worth paying more for a great location, convenience to the T, and cleanliness. A Starbucks, Ben and Jerry's, and an upscale Legal Seafood restaurant were right next door and could be walked to. An upscale mall was across the street with other restaurants.
