We weren't in the mood to spend $275+ on a downtown Boston hotel, so found this new hotel thanks to a friend who works within the Hyatt chain. Rate was a third of what we'd pay downtown. Rooms were clean and new (hotel was just three weeks old), and in fact when we entered our room it had an odd odor. When we opened the window, it dissipated. I suspect it was due to the new carpets, furnishings, etc.
VERY large room (we had a room with a king-size bed), with sitting area, alcove, and bathroom. No tub, if that makes a difference. But really nice shower with great pressure and temperature. Decor is asian-inspired, very nice.
Breakfast buffet each morning with cold options like cereals, yogurt, or berries and hot options like oatmeal, breakfast egg sandwiches, waffles, pancakes and the like. Not gourmet quality, but for free, damn good.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus which will take you to the nearby T station, allowing you to get downtown relatively quickly and cheaply, avoiding traffic and parking fees. They will also take you to a nearby shopping mall.
There's onsite food after the free breakfast buffet, and there's also a TGI Friday's next door. Staff were very friendly and helpful, from shuttle drivers to front desk and service staff.
Fulfilled our needs perfectly at a deep discount from a downtown property.More
