“Inventive cuisine at The Farm Table, Bernardston, Ma.”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

We had dinner at The Farm Table recently and ordered some interesting meals. I had stuffed zucchini flowers that was reminiscent of my Italian grandmother's delicious take on them.

Other menu options were creative, too. Everything served was very, very fresh. As many know, The Farm Table uses locally sourced food almost exclusively. The result is freshness beyond the norm.

Service was adequate, not stellar.

“Why poor service??”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

As much as we want to love the whole experience, service is so inconsistent. We were one of 4 tables in the main dining room on a Sat. nite, with reservations. We placed our entire order for apps, salads (which are a la carte) and entrees *ahead* of a 6-top nearby. Only to wait 40 minutes (after salads!) for our entrees while the larger table was served theirs. It was way beyond a leisurely pace for a special nite out, which it was. We drive a full hour to get there, and usually go all out, ordering every course and spending quite a bit. It just seems less and less worth it each time. Also the nice bread and olive oil has been replaced with a tacky, pub-style basket of popcorn!!! Our server completely wouldn't acknowledge any fault on her part, and was even condescending when she should have been apologetic...

“Excellent food but service was slow”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

A friend and I stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. We had a 1:30 reservation and on a friends recommendation we requested a certain table. We were promptly seated at our table. The server greated us within 5 minutes with water. She came back about 10 min later to take our order. We both ordered the soup of the day which was minestrone and the crab cakes.
We waitied 40 minutes for our soup and the place was not crowded at all. After we finished our soup which was very good but richer and not a typical 'tomatoey' minestrone, we waited another 15 minutes for the bowls to be cleared. About 10 minutes after that our crab cakes arrived.
Now these were worth the wait!! They were crunchy on the outside and loaded with crab on the inside, just totally delightful. The salad along side with mixed greens, pickled onion and light dressing was nice too. I would have given this 5 stars if it didn't take 90 minutes for lunch.

“Recommened to us.”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

The dining room wasn't open so they only had the pub menu. We were already there so why not try it? I'm 64 yrs. old and although it may sound silly it was the best pizza I ever had. My wife had the tortilla soup and cheese corn muffin which she said were delicious. Highly recommend.
