This is an excellent hotel for exploring Boston (the front desk can give you driving directions to the Alewife MBTA station, whence you can access most things of interest). Rooms are very well appointed and comfy, and the WiFi and business centre are complimentary and work very well. Breakfast is not included, but it's decent value and there's a wide selection.

There were lots of trays of discarded room service outside rooms when we arrived, and they were still there when we left two days later, which is a bit grim. Our keycards stopped working, necessitating a trip to reception, but it was quickly sorted out. Oh, and the restaurant seems to close on a whim, so maybe plan to eat elsewhere!

Thanks for your comments on the Room Service trays, this is an area in which we struggle from time to time and is dissappointing to read. I will also check on your restaurant comments. We do on occassion serve the all day dining menu in the lounge only, but the menu is the same. This may need to be better communicated to our guests, Thanks for letting me know.

You can tell this hotel is not new, but it is clean and comfortable. The concierge lounge is decent, and has the exact same food everyday for breakfast. In the evening, it also never changes except for 1 hot food. Thank being said, the rooms are roomy, clean, and they have both foam and feather pillows. The shower, at least in my room, was very good. I would stay here again.

Thanks for the review! I will share the concierge comments with the chef, I know that we change the hot items daily, but it sounds like we need some cold variations too, Thanks again for the feedback. See you again!

Double Tree hotels are always huge. This is the first night of hotel of a 4-day Boston/NYC/DC bus tour by Safeway Tours. They always secure good hotels which give them the niche in the business. The room is big and beds comfy. The Wolfgang Pack complimentary coffee is terrible.
The hallways are laid out like a maze. I got lost when I stayed in Double Tree Tacoma Airport while I was running late to catch the plane. It's no different in this one. One can get disoriented walking on hallways heading different directions. Bring your own compass :)

Thanks for the 4 star review, we love our tour business and hope that the rest of your tour was wonderful! I'm sorry you didn't like the Wolfgang Puck coffee, coffee is definitely a personal thing. Yes, this is a large hotel, your comment about the compass made me laugh! Hope to see you again.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and spacious. The reception area is spacious and has a view into the courtyard where cocktail hours flow naturally from inside to outside. There is another of the same in another location in the hotel.
The ballroom where the wedding was held was perfect. It, too, was spacious and not cramped with chairs up against one another.
The wedding apps were delicious! The wedding meal was overcooked, but a very creative menu. Sunday buffet breakfast was very good with many choices.

The rooms were what you've come to expect from Doubletree...comfortable and clean.

Thank you for giving us 5 stars even though your wedding entree was not to your liking. I have shared your comment with our Banquet Chef. We certainly would not want to over cook anyone's food! She will try to back track to understand what may have happened, Thanks again for letting us know.

We were very pleased with the breakfast server Pam. She was very helpful and took good care of us. The manager gave us a free breakfast just because we ordered toast and coffee which we felt was not necessary but we definitely appreciated it. The server in the bar at night named Beth was so very friendly and made us feel welcome. It was just a great experience. The entire staff are very well trained to make anyone's visit a great experience. We highly recommend this facility. If we ever need to go to that area again we would positively stay there again.

Room Tip: We can't imagine there are any rooms that are not great so just choose accordingly.

Thank you for mentioning Pam and Beth!
They are Rock Stars for me, and as they were mentioned by name they also get a prize! Hope to see you again if you are back in our neighborhood.

This hotel is a cut above its peers. Very good food, super clean, modern, and spacious rooms, and even a free shoe shining service! Although the current construction work makes getting here difficult, just follow the detour signage and you'll be fine. Finally - I got a great price at the Doubletree using a AAA rate. Who knew you could get such luxury for $100?

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to take advantage of the AAA rate. Thanks for your comments on the construction. I do believe it is well marked, just follow the signs. It does take you about 1 1/2 miles out of your way, but do check our website through DoubleTree where we have the alternate directions listed under "directions". Project will be done in one month!
See you again.

Can only enter from north; easy to go too far, no way back due to construction. Staff very poor at giving directions which might have gotten us there. We had to drive through woods to get to hotel parking lot. Hotel itself fine. Commando maneuvers to get there were not.

I am so sorry that our staff did not give you good directions to the hotel. For fellow travelers, please refer to our DoubleTree website for the alternate directions, posted under "directions". The good news is, the State of MA. is one month from completion of the work. Thanks for staying with us, and I will circle back with the front desk staff to ensure they have easily readable directions.
