I don't know what it is about this place...the food is always decent, typical American Chinese fare but I always wonder if I'm going to regret eating there later in the day. Nothing has ever confirmed this feeling as I have had good experiences there...maybe the dimly lit dining room? Sketchy waitstaff? Not bad for a quick lunch but I will only go when co workers pick there to go.

We live in the area and many years ago this was our favorite Chinese restaurant, Recently we returned anticipating the warmth of an old favorite.

Sadly we believe this place has declined significantly. We chose the buffet which was probably a great mistake (no pun intended), The food was everything you do not want in a Chinese buffet, lots of fried stuff with a lot of batter and grease. The other offereings had the tendency to all taste the same - way too far down the line toward the homogenized suburban American market.

The lighting was quite dim which was probably good because it was our opinion that the place was not particularly clean and the dcor was suffering fromlong neglect.

Significantly we were there on a weekend eveing and the place was about 25% full. Many years ago this place was jammed on the weekends.

The Mai Yai was good!

I would say that if you want better Chinese, drive a litte. The food at the Sezchuan Gormet in Billerica is the best in the area (humble ambiance but who cares) and the overall experience at Lotus Blossum in Sudbury is way superior. Perhaps our standards have changed but we cannot reccomend.

Sad but trure, we will probably not return to this old favoraite.

Great accommodation for our party of ten, they set us up with a nice round table in the rear of the restaurant with some other large groups. Great cocktails from the bar! Food was well prepared, not gourmet but good quality Americanized Chinese food. Portions were generous for the price. The hot appetizer platters were HUGE and we had plenty of food to take home.

As others already commented, the food is OK; it's just the normal americanized version of Chinese food, nothing more, nothing less; Sushi (I know, nothing to do with Chinese food) is also OK, but not impressive in any way. Service is good and fast, even if waiters could cheer up a bit. The place is nice, and I found it conducive to good conversations.
All in all, a reasonable place for business dinners.

The Great Wall is a great Chinese restaurant, it's always busy but it's big, so you can always get a table. The buffet is fantastic. All of the classic appetizers -- boneless ribs, egg rolls, peking dumplings, chicken wings, chicken fingers, delicious tempura-style vegetables, scallion pancakes. There is fried rice and lo mein, and a dozen or so entrees -- including vegetarian dishes, spicy dishes, seafood, chicken, pork, beef. You get a soup and an dessert bar too. It's a bargain. But if you don't like buffets, the regular menu is extensive -- from steamed, diet friendly dishes to all the classics. I especially love their chicken and pine nuts with lettuce wraps, their Kung Pao prawns, and their hot and sour soup. Full bar with all the fancy drinks. Extremely attentive but not hovering staff. The two women who own it are always there and know most customers by name. They do Dim Sum on the weekends. And of course they do take out! You will never be disappointed at this restaurant.
