Description: Mattakeese Wharf is a SEASONAL (May4 to October21 ) waterfront restaurant on Cape Cod, MA since 1968. We serve fresh, local seafood including lobsters, steaks, chicken, and some Italian specialties. There is no better romantic sunset view while dining on the Cape than here at Mattakeese Wharf. See the sunset slideshow on our website with many photos contributed by diners. We are open late April through mid October. Mattakeese Wharf is located next to a whale watching boat so we are a natural destination after your day on the water with the whales. We offer a full bar and live entertainment during the summer season... a great place to watch the Sox games! We serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week plus Brunch on Sundays. We are open during the season(May 4 - Oct.21) from 11:30am until 9 in the evening. Check our website for info!

We haven't been to the Mattakeese Wharf Restaurant for quite some time. We had been hearing that there was a new chef and that the food had improved tremendously. So, we had to give it a try. We were NOT disappointed. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was great. I ordered one of the evenings specials, salmon. The flavors and creativity of the meal was tremendous. Since they came in first place at this years chowder fest, of course we had to try the clam chowder. It truly was award winning! We will definitely be dining at the Mattakeese again!

3.5 Overall rating.
We had some dishes that were Very Very Good and others that were OK.
Drinks were also hit or miss. Grapefruit martini was the bomb and hit you like one.
We felt that the seafood should have been sooo much better for the price.
Waitress a bit snarky at first, she new we weren't regulars....seemed to irk her anytime you asked for something...maybe a bad day....
View from the corner table cannot be beat for sunset.

We visited on a Friday night and the place was heaving. Ended up having our starters in the bar and then getting a table in the restaurant for the main course. Food was good but it took a long time to come and we were tired and slightly 'past it' by the time our food came. Friday night entertainment was good and it was a really buzzy atmosphere.

Went there on a referral from a friend. Was told the view was outstanding, especially at sunset, and the food was good. She didn't comment on the service, so I assumed it would be good. The view was great and the food was okay, nothing spectacular. However, our waitress had an attitude. She was unfriendly, and grumpy. When we asked what the specials were she copped an attitude. She never checked on us after our food was delivered. Another waitress refilled our beverages. After our plates were cleared (by another server) our waitress brought the check. She never asked us if we wanted any dessert. In the age of up selling in a restaurant, this individual missed the mark.

Stopped for a late lunch and despite a large influx of people coming in after whale watching the staff was friendly and efficient. Kitchen kept up with the orders too. Chowder was very good, salads fresh.
