“A little slice of Cape paradise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2010

My daughter and I just made our first trip to the Cape and absolutely loved it! I’m sure we would have enjoyed Cape Cod no matter what, but it would not have been the same if we hadn’t stayed at the Lamb & Lion. The Lamb & Lion and Tom & Alice are what really made our trip SPECIAL! We split our nights between their offsite Yarmouth Port cottage and the Inn and loved them both! It’s tough to say which we liked more – you have “total privacy” at the cozy little cottage – however at the Inn you can get spoiled real quick waking up to Alice’s delicious breakfast assortment. Trust me, if you can’t find something you like from the variety she serves then you must not be hungry – fresh fruits, homemade yogurt, breads, granola and jams just to name a few, plus the special of the day. We highly recommend her gourmet quiche; it is outstanding, as are her Swedish pancakes with loganberries. The pool, hot tub and outdoor shower are other amenities the Inn has to offer, not to mention relaxed atmosphere and casual conversation with other guests and innkeepers if you choose.
The rooms are cozy & comfortable; however what we really enjoyed was the attention to detail given to the furnishings – an eclectic Cape Cod feel with a touch of humor here & there. Read the Lamb & Lion website carefully and you’ll get a taste of their sense of humor. We got a real kick out of their “Go To Your Room” sign and their rather unique Vacancy & No Vacancy signs. Make the trip and you’ll see what I mean. Another plus is the location – Barnstable is centrally located on picturesque route 6A. Around every curve you’ll find another quaint, colorful storybook view – it’s a virtual floral explosion everywhere you look!
The icing on the cake for us was Tom & Alice! If you are lucky enough to stay at the Lamb & Lion and don’t ask them for their complimentary “self-guided driving tours” or for hiking, biking, beach, restaurant, or activity suggestions you don’t know what you’re missing!!! We wouldn’t have had half the FUN we did without their input! We got more bang for our buck and saw more than we ever expected to thanks to Tom & Alice – they are 5 star innkeepers in our book!

This was our first trip to Cape Cod, I found the Lamb and the Lion on the web and they lived up to all our expectations. Typically we prefer B&Bs to resorts or hotels. We were warmly greeted by Ali and their cute as a button dogs. Our room was quiet and right outside was a warm pool and hot tub. We had 3 days of hot sunny weather so the pool was a welcome refresher. Tom and Ali directed us to some fantastic restaurants, the food was really good, the Belfry in Sandwich had the best Ahi Tuna and we received wonderful service everywhere we went.
Our hosts also had a car tour all mapped out, which took us to all sorts of neat places, beaches, shops, restaurants and the final destination of Provincetown.
We had so much fun and wished we could have stayed for at least a few more days.
Cape Cod is like a postcard, its all very pretty, its a feast for the eyes and we would highly recomend the Lamb and Lion as a fabulous place to stay

My husband and I love to stay at B & B's whenever we travel because of the personal touches and the homey atmosphere. The Lamb and Lion Inn far exceed any experience we've had before. This was our second visit and we hope to go again. Tom and Alice, the owners, are amazing. They are friendly, down to earth and attentive to your every need. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and cozy. The over all atmosphere is like going to visit one of your favorite friends or relatives! Alice makes delicious fresh yogurt and baked goods which we all enjoyed in the sun room or by the pool. Tom made sure we had wood for the fireplace and even went out of his way to buy a movie that we had mentioned we wanted to see! You'll see Tom and Alice throughout the day as they go about their business and they always take the time to stop and talk about what you're going to do that day. We would highly recommend the Lamb and Lion Inn to anyone who wants to enjoy a peaceful, quiet, romantic getaway, with easy access to restaurants, shops and entertainment. Want the best room?? Ask for the Innkeeper's Pride!

My new husband and I stayed there for our wedding night. We got upgraded to the suite, which is absolutely amazing! The bed is so comfortable especially with the light of the fireplace right next to it. The room is very romantic! We enjoyed spending time in the bath tub, which was big enough for both of us; and we are both fairly tall- him 6'3, me 5'8. The staff was very plesant and accomedating. It is a little pricey, but that is what you get when you stay on the cape. It is definately well worth it!

I visit several pet-friendly Inns every year with my sweet mini-poodle, Honey, whose color and disposition match her name. Lamb & Lion Inn is one of the best we've enjoyed. Location, amenities, hospitality, breakfasts, beautiful area, friendliness of owners and other guests, comfort of rooms, etc., all delightful! We're looking forward to visiting in warmer weather and further exploring nearby towns, basking on sunny beaches, sitting on Inn's decks, and my dipping in beautiful pool -- Honey's not a swimmer.

This place was so good that I was almost tempted not to say anything so that it doesn't get overbooked the next time I can get away. Tom And Allie who run the place give the best local information so that you can truly appreciate the area and our room (Inkeeper's Pride) exceeded our high expectations. I can't wait to go back.

Stumbled on this place - happy folks - high standards - casual luxury - flawless hospitality and grace from the managers. They are pet friendly (but we don't have a pet - go figure!) What a fun, quirky, "smart" place this is! No plans to be in the area for foreseeable future, but when we do we'd stay here again (and again) without question!
