“Bicyclists Best Choice”
Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

I'm bicycling from DC to Pittsburgh and stopped at the Desert Rose Cafe (up the slight incline) in downtown Williamsport. What an excellent place to relax and replenish. There are plenty of bike racks and Rose (server/owner) and Alan (chef) are very accommodating, inviting and entertaining. It is worth a stop.

“Great Sandwiches”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We were biking the C&O canal and detoured into Williamsport for something to eat. The local bike shop recommended the Desert Rose Cafe. They were so friendly, made great sandwiches, and filled our water bottles.I'd love to visit again.

“Perfect Lunch”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

We have been stopping at the Desert Rose for several years, starting with the smaller place across the street from the current location in the center of Williamsport. The atmosphere is super friendly and casual. The food is excellent. To give just one example, the lettuce on the sandwiches is organic, small leaves, fresh and delicious. The soups are made from scratch. The cafe is vegetarian and vegan friendly. But the best thing about the Desert Rose is Rose herself. She greets all customers warmly and makes them feel at home. The perfect place to stop in the quintessential canal town, Williamsport.

“Yummy”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Good food along the C & O Canal is hard to find. This is one place where you can get it. We stopped for lunch after 35 miles of biking and it was an oasis. Red beans and rice were great.
If you're looking for fancy, this isn't your place. But it is a nice friendly lunch spot where you are treated like a friend as soon as you walk in the door.

“Great Food”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

My friend and stopped by the Desert Rose Cafe for lunch on our way back from West Virginia to Virginia. It is a small cafe with a counter and stools and a few tables. It is a place where everyone knows everyone. They have a very simple menu. Sandwiches include peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese, hot dog, boca burger, ham, turkey, roast beef, chicken and tuna salad, etc. They have several soups and salads. We ordered chicken salad and tuna salad on croissants. Sides include chips or fresh veggies and ranch dip. We opted for the veggies which were very fresh. The chicken salad and tuna salad were freshly made and delicious. The croissants were very fresh as well. The Desert Rose was a great find.
