You customers wonder about where the sour waitress Brenda went but I don't know of anyone that would work for a woman that to begin with, steals from the employees credit card tips, is charged with 29 counts of child abuse. Look it up, Debra Mary Cussen, and you expect me to be happy? I don't think so, in addition 10 counts of theft because she had everything in her daughters name. Uses her sons credit card machine so she doesn't have to to pay the card companies. She deserves everything she gets and I feel very sorry for anyone assoiciated with her. Thanks for listening, check it out its all true!

Our finished plates sat on our table for about 30 minutes before anyone took them. Our server Brenda, was not friendly and mumbled everything to us. As she walked away from our table she mumbled that they were out of something but we couldn't hear her or ask for her to repeat herself because she just walked away. She did not stop by to ask how our meals were and didn't offer an apology/explanation for our wait/her delays. Not personable AT ALL and having her as a waitress really took away from our first visit to this restaurant. The food was better than the service. The prime rib was great and the sides were good except that my date's broccoli came out with a huge glob of butter on it that just looked unappetizing from the jump. Crab imperial is like eating a jar of Helmann's mayo with a spoon. Was going to have dessert (apple turnover looked awesome), but didn't feel like waiting another 30 minutes. Props to the bus boy who seemed to be trying to help wherever he could.

We had heard good things about this restaurant so decided to have lunch there for a birthday celebration. We were not disappointed but rather delightfully surprised at the decor, courteous service, and sumptuous offerings. The soups are outstanding having sampled the crab, split pea, and lentil by our group. The main menu is vast and judging from the orders delivered past our table each appeared deliciously prepared. We look forward to our next visit to the Hidden Gem which will probably be real soon.

Been here a few times and keep wanting to love it, but... when a restaurant charges you a 1.00 per glass for TAP WATER!!!! Come on!! When asked about being charged, we were told that the City charges them so they pass it on to their guest! Well, the Electric Company charges for electric, you going to add that to the bill next?? I could get past the tackiness of the Country decor that is WAY over the top,but to charge for water is way more than tacky!! Sorry! We won't be back! We don't live in the town, but have made an effort to help support this family restaurant and this is what we get! Come on! Really think it was a way to up the bill since we didn't have any drinks. Would talk about the food, but right now I just have a bad taste in my mouth ! If in Trappe, go to Mitchum's!! Never have been disappointed or charged for TAP WATER!!

Prime rib sandwich was very good. Fish and chips was very disappointing. Call it a fried fish platter instead. One of the slices of tomato with one dish was brown to the core. Yuck.

The decor is way overdone. Keep it classy, clean and uncluttered and it will really make a big difference. Christmas lights are NOT a replacement for uplighting.

That said, the servers need to improve their professionalism. Again, keep it classy and don't try to be funny. Friendly, yes. A nosey body, no.

And whoever is wearing that horrid perfume needs to stop. Food service staff...cooks, owners, bar tenders...should NEVER wear fragrances. When I smell YOU before the food, that's a problem.
