“Great food and good atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

We had dinner here one night. The cream of crab soup was excellent. Everyone in our group was pleased with their dinner. The service was good and we were well looked after. If you liked Robert Mitchum, he grew up in this town and they have pictures of his family farm and several photos from his movies. It is a great place to relax and have a nice meal.

“One of a kind”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2014 via mobile

Restaurants like Mitchum's are one of a kind. A very special place, beautiful atmosphere with delicious food. Good service is hard to find on the shore and Mitchum's raises the bar.

“Average at Best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

The last time we eat at Mitchum's Steak House was around six months ago and it was excellent. This time was a sad experience. The cream of crab was wonderful, the wedge salad was great, but the main course was a disappointment. We both ordered NY Strips med-rare Pittsburgh. The steaks were medium and tasteless (they did offer to take them back and cook new ones). The meat was dry despite the pink center. The meal was overpriced, over $110.00 without tip and with no drinks only water. The steak was no better then we would have had at Applebee’s, but costing a lot less. It is sad to see a great restaurant fall to average in less then a year’s time.

“Very nice steak house in a very small town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

We ended up at Mitchum's looking for a halfway point between Edgewater and Salisbury to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday night. A surprising number of restaurants in the Easton area do not serve dinner on Sunday. Mitchum's is a lovely restaurant but you don't have to get too dressed up to go there. One of us had recently started eating gluten free and they were quick to point out the majority of the items on the menu could be served in a gluten free format. The server (David) was very good Overall, the food was quite good. The filet and the veal chop were all cooked perfectly. The drinks were surprisingly priced - cocktails were between $5 - $8 and a decent bottle of wine was $32. The one disappointment was the chocolate lave cake which was not cooked properly and still cold and hard inside but as it was getting late on a night with a weather event we didn't bother sending it back for a re-do.

“Beautiful setting, excellent service, very good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

Mitchum's is an oasis in an area lacking high quality restaurants. Easily the best restaurant close to Cambridge. Very much worth the short ride from the Cambridge Hyatt. Trappe is a small town in between Easton and Cambridge on the Eastern Shore of MD. The town center is a single street. Very rural but quaint. The restaurant is lovely - tall ceilings, large oak bar, etc. The service is top notch - polite, prompt and unobtrussive. Joe the server was superb. The chef has a nice touch. We had the tomato bisque and mushroom tart as appetizers. Both were outstanding. Steaks are their signature and they do them well. The meat interior were perfect - medium rare Delmonico and medium filet. The exterior char was a little heavy but not unpleasantly so. The steaks compare well but did not quite match a Ruth Chris or Morton's though. Frites were excellent and the garnish was a good touch. Mushrooms and spinach dishes were fine.
