“Captain Wade is the National Treasure for this attraction!”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

The Rebecca T. Ruark is a valuable and important treasure, however, Captain Wade's love for her, his narration of the history for both water and land in the local area, was outstanding and informative; thus making his years, and experience the national treasure. This is a trip for all to enjoy! Cost is worth the ride! Thanks Captian Wade from WV!

“Great night - learned so much”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

Capt. Wade was so informative and fun. We learned so much while out on a beautiful sunset cruise. He was very engaging and informative and encouraged hands on interaction with all of the passengers. We really enjoyed the 2 hours out on the water and thought it was very reasonably priced. Thank you!

“Oldest Skipjack tour”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

Unless you have your own boat -- and even if you do -- you shouldn't miss this tour if you come to Tilghman Island. It is peaceful to be out on the water and quite beautiful. Capt Wade is a true "old salt" and comes from a heritage of Water-men. He's a character! He tells stories of the life onboard a skipjack and involves the passengers in his tales. He let my grandkids steer the boat, which was a highlight for them. Also he tells of environmental concerns plaguing the bay and why some laws need to be changed. Very interesting.

“Skipjack tour”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Sailing aboard something that is part of our National Historic treasury is amazing. Captain Wade was so knowledgable, and very willing to impart that information to those of us on board for the 2 hour journey out into the river.
Being allowed to steer the wheel and hoist the sails made it more fun than it might have been.

“An Old Salt Captain”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

If you don't want to hear from someone that has a passion for the Chesapeake Bay area, then stay away. Captain Wade made this trip interesting and personal. This is not a luxury cruise, but one that takes you back to the history of the area, and where it is now. Captain Wade is knowledgable and passionate in his presentation. The ship was lovely and comfortable, but expect to be on a working SkipJack, this is not luxury. He encourages the guests to participate in raising the sails and steering the craft. Great experience. It helped that the weather was great and the wind was cooperative!
