“Why can't we get a decent experience here?”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

We have been here more than a dozen times. It never fails to disappoint. The check is always much higher than we expect, and the service has never been more than barely adequate. Why is it packed?

“This is a nice place, but the food and service is just so-so”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Roscoe's is a cozy warm place to visit on a cold night (like tonight when my wife and I visited). The pizza is the place's mainstay, but the crust needs to be crisper and the pizza needs to be cooked longer. (Undercooking continues to be a problem at Roscoe's.) The salads and soups are consistently good. The wait staff is pleasant but should be a bit more attentive. Two other things: The prices are bit high for what you get, and there's not enough variety on the menu.

“Great pizza in Takoma Park.”
Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

I really like Roscoe's. The place is named after a famous rooster in Takoma Park. Anyhow the food is good, and they have a nice beer and wine selection.

“Tasty vegetable paninis”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

Have eaten here many times both dine-in and take-out. Dining room can get a bit loud, but outdoor patio is nice. Paninis are about $10 and very good. While they might be known for their thin crust pizza, I think the paninis are better. Friendly and helpful staff, good selection of adult beverages.

“Generally good food and decent service; a little too pricy”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

We go to Roscoe's every so often, including this past Friday night. The food is generally good to very good, and it was on the very good side this time. My pizza -- a veggie pizza with soy cheese -- was crispy and cooked through (sometimes their pizza is a little floppy). And my wife had a nice beet salad and homemade soup. The waiter was pretty attentive, but not overly so. We sat outside and watched the world go by in Takoma Park, which was nice. The food is too expensive for what you get. It's hard to get anything for less than $10. Small individual pizzas should not be in the mid-teens. But overall a good place.
