This restaurant seems a bit like it's in the middle of nowhere, but if you are within an hour's drive, it is most definitely worth the trip. On Mondays & Wednesdays, bottles of wine over $30 are half price, and during Happy Hour, if you sit in the Wine Bar (rather than in the dining room), appetizers are half price, as well - so it's a great deal! For two people with two appetizers, two entrees, a bottle of wine and dessert, we spent just about $100.

The food was excellent - the meat and cheese appetizers came with fruit and vegetables and were quite generously sized. Our server was very helpful in helping us choose a wine from a lengthy and diverse wine list (though heavily Italian and American), and the filet was beautifully prepared.

My only complaint was that the wine bar was very noisy when we first arrived - obviously many of the people knew each other and so conversation flowed among tables, making it difficult to have an intimate conversation.

I went to this restaurant on the advice of the hotel where I was staying. Though I generally avoid Italian restaurants, I hadn't eaten a meal all day and was really in the mood for pasta. There was only one review in Spanish and all I could make out was that all the food was "piccante". It's in the center of an historic town and there's ample parking. It was a warm night and lots of people were sitting outside. I enterd through the bar where several people were enjoying wine and it seemed convival. I was seated at once in the main dining room. The owners are from Southern Italy and the menu reflected that, though not excluding some dishes from other regions. I ordered the tomato, mozzarella and roasted eggplant napoleon to start, a house salad an spaghetti puttanesca. The appetizer was well conceived, but probably should only be ordered when fresh local tomatoes are available. The ones in the dish were flavorless and woody. The salad was impeccably fresh and well assembled with a very nice house balsamic vinaigrette. The pasta was perfect ly cooked and the sauce wonderful- just what I needed -though there was too much of it, as usual. Major flaw-I had ordered a glass of Falanghina (one of my new favs) and was disappointed. It tasted past it's prime - which it was - on closer inspection a 2006. Caveat emptor. When I looked at the wine list again I was shocked to see how many of the Italian whites were more than 3 years old. I had a nice provencal rose which was fine. I wasn't going to have dessert, but when I saw that they had strawberries with zabaglione I took a chance. Good choice on my part - the zabaglione was the real deal, redolent with Marsala and not overly sweet. At that point, I no choice but to have a limoncello. I'd go back.
