We have eaten here twice the food on the main menu is good portion and fresh, however the bar food , appetizers did not have a lot of flavor and the bartender maybe needs to work somewhere else, she seems bored with her job.

“The Dry Dock Restaurant on the water”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

What a wonderful place, small, intimate, and a fixture at Zanhiser's Marina for a lot of years. Great food, great views, and a wonderful porch to sit on and dine when the weather is right. Look at the real working decoys around the bar. Most all date from the early 1900's and were part of a private collection. Great history and wonderful dining. Request the "Greatest Hits of 1879" (classical) for an added feature to your dining enjoyment.

“Call the Health Department”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

We ate here on Sat. July 28th and what a major disappointment. When we ordered our dinners we asked the waiter to please bring some extra lemon with the meal, since we like lemon on our seafood. When the food finally arrived there were no lemons so we asked again for some. The waiter brought them in his hand, not on a napkin, not on a plate, in his hand! The Crab Cakes claim to be in the Maryland tradition. The only tradition they are in is bland pieces of cheap crab. These were the worse crab cakes I have had in years. No lump crab, dry and surley not a tradition Matyland would be proud to call hers. The other dish, Salmon, was quite nice, guess we lucked out that they didn't claim in the Maryland tradition. If you want food "hand delivered" you found your place, I perfer mine delivered on a plate! Anyone know the number for the local health department?

The Dry Dock Restaurant opened for business in 1980. We take pride in making our guests have an exceptional and relaxing dining experience. Having consulted individually with the Manager on duty that night as well as our server, respectfully, our server did provide the lemons, plated. The Manager on duty specifically remembers this table because as she passed the table, this guest stopped her and requested lemons. The Manager brought them to the table "plated" and noticed that there was an existing plate with "lemons". Our crabcakes are one of our signature entrees and have been enjoyed by our guests since the opening of our restaurant. Thank you to all our new and existing loyal customers for supporting us.

“Superb water front dining in Solomons”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2012

Spent a girls weekend away at Solomons island. Has a fantastic dinner with party of 10. This lovely restaurant sits overlooking the scenic river. The sailboats floating along the dock lend a nice ambience to Dry dock. The service was top notch and the food was outstanding!! I recommend the amaretto shrimp as an appetizer and the seafood was fresh and delicious. On the pricey side but worth it. The staff was very accomodating and also happy to let us bring an outside cake for our celebration. Skip bringing your own dessert because the creme brulee here is fantastic and you must try it. We strolled out on the dock after dinner and patio has seating to help you relax and enjoy the view.

“Seriously good food in a cozy waterfront setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2012

We went to the Dry Dock with a large group and we could not have been treated better! The server paced our meal well. They were out of my wife's favorite Chardoney so they gave her tastes of several (yes several) alternatives to help her find a substitute. (Thank goodness they were not out of Bombay Saffire for my martini!). We had fried oysters and cream of crab soup as appetizers and both were very good. My blackened tuna was served rare as requested and was superb. Just enough heat. Although we try not to order shellfish pasta since it is often quite ordinary, it was highly recommended and indeed lived up to the recommendation. All the food was complemented by a nice view of the water from the second floor dining room A delightful experience indeed!
