I'd echo what other reviewers said, and add that the hosts/owners are super laid-back and accommodating (w/o being too much so), the food was well prepared and very fresh, the coffee was superb (very important to us!), the mattresses are really firm and luxurious (TempurPedic, I believe -- something you almost never find at B&Bs), there is help-yourself liquor, mixers, red, white and sparkling wine, sodas, water, etc., a great tea selection, WiFi, loads of parking, and easy access to Berlin, Snow Hill, Chincoteague, Assateague, Ocean City, etc.

Would absolutely stay again, and recommend.

This is a great hidden gem on the Eastern shore. Gorgeous views, great service, fabulous food, bikes and kayaks, close to great crab cakes, the perfect romantic getaway but also a place I have gone to with my daughters for fun mom-daughter time.

One of the best B&B's we have stayed in too -- perfect location in a tranquil hamlet right on the water. Very nice host, beautiful restored 1835 house with generous rooms and baths. We, however, stayed in their cottage two blocks away. Two bedrooms, nice little kitchen, large screen porch with rocking chairs overlooking a marsh and creek with herons fishing, a bench to watch the spectacular sunsets, nothing fancy but just peaceful, relaxing, private. Wandered over to main house for lavish breakfasts. Spent a day canoeing on the Pokemoke river with its blackwater and cypress trees. Lovely place, some of the best country bicycling -- no cars, flat, divine. Bring some good food if you stay in the cottage, and go out one night, stay in another. Had a nice swim in the calm bay off the pier. A little town that time forgot, and we liked it that way.

My husband and I were looking for a weekend escape from NYC, and the Mansion House was the perfect find! I've had some off-putting experiences with B&Bs in the past so I'm sometimes reluctant to stay at them, but I would have no hesitation about staying here again. George was a wonderful host with spot-on recommendations (for both recreation and restaurants), and he cooked us some mean pancakes for breakfast.

I have been staying at this Inn since they opened. I am guessing it is going on close to 7 or 8 years now. It continues to be my favorite retreat from the Washington area and I make sure to get down there at least once in the spring, summer and fall. All three seasons have something different.

Carol is phenomenal in the kitchen, and if the tides and wind are right, you may even get a chance to catch some fish with George.

The Inn is gorgeous, sits right on the Chincoteague Bay and is quiet and inviting. You can spend your day reading and relaxing in one of the beautifully decorated rooms, down in the large main living room, or out front on one of the porches overlooking the bay.

I can't recommend this inn highly enough!!!

What blew me away was the location. It sits on the water's edge. The water and the horizion go on forever. The sound of the gentle waves give you an instant feeling of tranquilty. As we surveyed the manicured lawn and the restored historic mansion we knew this was the place for some true R&R. We had just driven 6 exhausting hours from NYC but seeing the place gave us a burst of energy and we couldn't wait to see inside. The house is nicely appointed with lovely antiques. The living room has two fire places with warm colors of burgandy next to the wood furniture. Then there is a charming sitting room and dining room. The foyer has a well stocked hospitality bar. Upstairs, there is a balcony with a hammock and chairs. We loved our cozy water vu room filled with artwork and bric a brac. That night we saw the moon rise from our window. The moon light glisented on the water. We decided to help ourseleves to the hospitality bar and sit outside on the porch to enjoy the moonlight dance. Talk about romantic. The next morinig we saw a spectacular sunrise. We had a wonderful breakfast of fresh peaches and pears (from the backyard), eggs, cheese grits and tomatoes (also from the backyard). Everything was so fresh and delicious. The innkeepers are warm, freindly and full of suggestions for things to do. We swam right off the dock in front of the house. We went to the beach at a nearby wild life state park and one night we went to Ocean City. We had such a fab time that it was hard to leave but we will certainly be back. I really wanted to keep this secreat retreat to myself but my husband advised that if they don't get guests they won't be around and we hope they are around for many more years to come.

Visiting the Mansion was like staying with family. The history of the house and previous occupants was facinating. George, the proprietor, and the neighbors in Public Landing were warm and welcoming. We loved the area and are ready to go back.
