“Old School Seafood Spot”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

This place has been around for more than 50 years and it shows -- and that's a good thing. The staff is very no-nonsense, but that doesn't mean they aren't nice. I recommend a seat at the u-shaped, old school counter. Oysters are awesome (when in season) and the bar"tenders" will probably slide you an extra one or two. The menu is no frills and, honestly, a little pricey, but the food is excellent. There's plenty of fried offerings, but I like the broiled seafood platter. Small beer and wine selection, but that's not why you're there. The walls are adorned with 50+ years of pictures of all the celebrities that have passed through the door. Bring cash for a tip and pay at the register on the way out.

“A visit back in time”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

Well, Crisfield's still has the charm of a "it's about the food" Maryland shore place. Fresh and very tasty oysters, no skimping on crabmeat in anyone's dish. Waitresses treat you like family, well, actually better than that, and the atmosphere just warms your heart.

“Good Seafood, better character!”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Went to Crisfields with the wife to meet up with an old high school friend and we agreed seafood was in order. It was good to see oysters on the menu and they were fresh caught that day. The food was good and orders came out quicker than expected. The crab cakes were a normal size and fried just right, though they could have used just a little more seasoning. The cole slaw was a great accompaniment and very crisp. Though if you do decide to have a beer with dinner, be forewarned, they are served in half pint glasses. But the real beauty of the place is the ambiance. Lots of pictures, plaques, and a huge assortment of german beer steins and ceramics lines the walls. The restaurant is divided in two, with one half devoted to a sit down kind of bar, and the other half is a sit down restaurant. You really get the feeling that this is a local restaurant when you visit the place.

Heard a lot about this restaurant but am from South Texas. Was looking for some fried catfish and they did not have any. What???? But great oyster crackers. Food was bountiful and fried golden brown.

“Not to be missed”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

This family owned resaurant is worth all the effort to get to (except on Monday nights when it is closed). The fish produced in this place is about the best you will find anywhere. The oysters from Chesapeake Bay are so scrumptous. It is no wonder Jimmy Buffet loves this place and many other notables. I recommend eating at the counter. You can then see the oyster's shucked as they are expertly by waiters that have been doing it for years. Have a dubonnet with the fish? sounds terrible but it is wonderful. Restroom a little tight but nothing horrible. Always good conversation and interesting people. And menu is consistently excellent -- try what is on special at the time. A very special treat.
