We ordered sandwiches and they were both OK, nothing special. We used a Groupon coupon otherwise the value would not be good. The place was still being worked on at the time and I think it has settled down but I can't say we would make a great effort to return. Sandwiches were overstuffed in the middle and understaffed on the edges.

“Great Bagels & Spreads, and Desserts, too”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

Our family has been buying bagels, sandwiches and baked treats during visits to the Colesville area of Silver Spring for years. The variety of bagels is impressive and tasty, and the sandwiches are delicious. And there are plenty of pastries and cookies, too. In particular, the hamentashin are big and tasty, with more filling than crust -- always a good sign.

The counter help is typically young but truly competent, and unfazed by requests or last minute enlargements of our order. If these are part-time or summer employees, The Bagelry should give lessons in how to train staff. Year after year, we never had a bad experience.

For a while, The Bagelry had expanded into the adjacent store space, but that seems to have gone away. I suspect most people order their bagels, etc. to go. Also note that the pumpernickel bagels have onions in the recipe, which may not appeal to everyone.

If you are in the Colesville area and in need of some lunch or great food for the road, The Bagelry would be a good bet.
