Northwest Park is another of the Montgomery County golf courses, but unlike Little Bennett, it is kept in wonderful condition. Not only are the fairways and greens usually in tip-top shape, they've redone the bunkers such that they have real sand and good drainage.
This is a classic style course. Brutal length on many of the par threes and par fours, with shorter, easier par fives. Bunkers tend to be off to the sides of the greens, leaving open shots to the pin, and water doesn't really come into play.
Rounds can be slow, especially on weekends. But for a good, solid test of golf, NW Park is a good choice.
Note that there is also an "inside" nine that is tougher than it appears, due to the number of times creeks cross through the fairways, limiting your ability to hit driver. It is not an "executive" course, but rather a collection of par threes and par fours that can provide a real test.
