Had a business lunch here. The food was delicious, the staff was great and the overall service was quick. I had the lamb tacos - Yum! Colleagues gather here after hours. Reservations are recommended.

By the looks of a couple of recent reviews, this restaurant has been a little spotty recently. But my wife and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. We stopped in and found all the tables reserved. So we went to the upstairs bar where Jessica was very friendly and efficient, without being on top of us. She coordinated with the kitchen so my gluten-free wife had no trouble negotiating the menu, choosing a perfectly cooked bronzino (European seabass). I had a duck prosciutto salad, and the mussels with a light tomato broth and goat cheese. Both were gems. Silver Spr9ng has changed so much in recent years. And this creative, fresh restaurant will only add to the reasons to come here. We will definitely return.

Visiting from out of town, we went there with friends from Silver Springs. We heard the chef recently left and based on other reviews this appears to be true. (We were there Dec. 14, 2012) Jane ordered gnocchi which was burned black on one side. They apologized and gave her a free dessert. But it was so bad it should have never got out of the kitchen. I had scallops which were very tasty and cooked well. My friend had the crab cakes that were OK. We felt the meals were overpriced for what we received. We were in DC for a week and this was the most overpriced place we ate (rest of the time near Dupont Circle). The service was good.

I know people love this place and perhaps our experience was an anomaly. However, it was bad enough that we will NOT be returning, no matter how great other people say it is. We did not have reservations and got dinner before a movie. We sat in the bar area (perhaps this was the reason for such terrible service??). The atmosphere was nice and the tables were fine. However, it was simply the worst, worst, worst service ever! It was impossible to get a server's attention and there were 3 different people who "took care" of us. Drinks were forgotten and the food took over an hour to come out and we had to get up and go find a server in order to remind them to go check on our food. They were not very apologetic about the long delay. In my opinion, service at such a pricey restaurant should have been a LOT better. Servers should be aware of their tables (there are not very many tables in the bar area) and have some clue about when orders should be up. They should have come to our table and apologized for the delay long before we had to complain. They should have comped a dessert or SOMETHING after this experience. We didn't even get an apology. The food was just okay. Nothing spectacular at all and certainly not justified by their prices. Bad attitudes, bad service, mediocre food, and no attempt at recovery after our bad experience. No excuse for such a disappointing night.
