Had breakfast here And was surprised by the value and quality of the food. In a town full of chain restaurants with higher prices I was happy to find this place. This is def a locals place as you can see the reserved signs for the regulars. Can't wait to go back!

This place is always busy as it is a fav with the local seniors, no worries as the tables turn fast. The owner is a nice guy that for years owned Wetzel's in Ocean City. The wait staff is made up of pros - no teeny boppers here, which I really like. Still, they can get a bit freaked when they are in the weeds. The breakfast fare is typical with the cream chip beef a favorite. The prices are family friendly, but if price is your concern, try the Sage on 13 and get the egg special for $2 or the pancakes and eggs for $3. Parking is a little tight as the new Royal Farms have taken up the old lot that Dayton's used to borrow. If you don't mind using the back door, there is a big lot close to it.

If you can get here in summer, especially late summer - the soft shell crab is a must have. They get their crabs from a small local place and they know how to cook them right. Order them on the toasted roll and skip the tater (served on the side) - other must haves: crab soup (cream or traditional MD style.) Chicken soup -- excellent - Skip the beef vegetable.

Sandwiches come with a generous order of chips. Fries are extra. They are good here, but this place does not serve heintz ketchup. Easy to overlook though. Also, the iced tea is fresh brewed and they are not tight with the lemon like so many places have become.

A final note - have a dessert. I do not think they make them here, but they price is right and they are always fresh.

Went for breakfast one morning. It was packed with older locals after church so it must be good. Food was priced very reasonably and tasted great. Get the omlets.

Dayton's is a local Resturant for locals. If you have never been there or haven't been in a long time prepare to get stared at by the other guests. They offered muskrat but I chose the meatloaf which had a good flavor but I was left still feeling hungry. This place was mediocre at best and the atmosphere the other guests provided was uncomfortable and unwelcome.

My wife, my wife's uncle, and I, went to Dayton's Monday morning for breakfast. We were greeted by a hostess, who knew my wife's uncle, and were taken to a table, already reserved by for us.The extremely friendly waiter took our order after bringing us our coffee. He spoke to many of the patrons, calling them by name. Our food was very good, in fact, you could say, "it was like being home". I always enjoy going to restaurants like this one.
